"What about you?" I ask her and she lights up. I guess we both needed this conversation.

"I feel like i've achieved everything besides from making my clothing brand that i've been telling you about. I feel like i've achieved everything also because of my family and who they are. I just want to be seen as my own person, that's my aspiration." She confesses.

"I think you already achieved that. When I see you, I see Kehlani, not Damien not Kieron. Just you. I didn't even know you were the Kehlani Iman until I saw you at the game." I reply.

"The media disagrees." She mumbles, sounding discouraged. I always looked at her as confident, I didn't expect that to have such a effect on her.

"It's the media. People are always gonna say some shit. You was born into this life of fame, you should adapt to that by now." I tell her and she starts smiling again.

"You sound like my dad." She giggles as she lifts my hand, playing with my fingers.

"If you wanna call me daddy just say that." I dramatically sighs and she laughs even harder.

"Neverrrr thattt." She emphasis on the never.

We'll see.

"When did you move here from Nigeria?" She asks me.

"Around 12."

"And how was that transition?" She lays her head on my chest now and I smile inwardly.

"I hated it. I missed my cousins, the weather, my house. Everything." I reply.

"Have you visited since then?"

"Nah."

"Why not?" She asks but I shrug. I didn't feel as if I had to tell her the reason right now.

"I dont know. But I haven't forgot my culture or nothing and I can still speak my language and all that shit."

"I know, i've heard you. And sometimes your accent comes out, it's adorable." She laughs slightly.

3 hours later

We decided- no she was hungry and I decided that I should get us some food. We went back to the beach to talk some more but the weather was starting to get cold so we were walking back to the car.

I look into the distance and see a particular figure walking towards us. I pat my waist but my gun isn't there. I promised her to leave it in the car.

Fuck.

I squint at the figure as he walks closer to the both of us with a mischievous grin on his face. I question how he got into the private beach but then again, it's him.

"Ace." He smirks, putting his hand out to dap me up. I eye his hand before dapping him back up.

"What's good son." I look back to Kehlani who didn't move from next to me.

"This your girl?" He asks and I shake my head.

"Just a friend." I reply. I know she isn't, neither did I want her to be but Rico didn't have to know that.

He eyes her once more before turning his attention back to me. Neither of them greet each other, which I appreciate.

"Why you here Rico?"

"We can't get ahold of you no more and I needed to tell you some important shit." He replies and I scrunch my face up.

"We both know what important shit means. I don't what no part in it ." I sigh.

"Just answer when I text, alright?" He pleads before looking back to Kehlaniz

I don't even bother to ask how he found me, it's Rico and unfortunately, Rico knows me best.

"I'm out, nice to meet you." He replies, winking at her before walking off. He most likely knows of her, considering her fame so I ignore the gesture.

I look back to Kehlani who looked confused. I wasn't bothered for the questions. I needed to know why the fuck he was pulling me back into that life.

Just when I got her back.

"Who was that?" She asks me.

"That ain't nobody." I reply before starting to walk up to the car again. She grabs me by the arm, stopping me.

"Who was it Amir?" She repeats.

"Bro lets- lets just go." I raise my voice at her and she scrunches her face up.

"Ok." She mumbles quietly.
