I don't really mind my banter with Neteyam anymore though. It just seems like procedure now. I feel like I'm starting to find my place a little more. I'm still very uneducated but I think I'm getting the hang of it. I mean I studies this god damn place since I've been on Pandora, but it's so much more complicated then we thought.

These landmarks that they have aren't just special to them, they are magical. Science can't even explain it. The way they have a connection with Eywa is so unbelievable. Scientist used to think that Eywa was similar to the connection people on Earth have to God but they are so wrong.

Eywa is a living breathing thing, not only watching over them but living with them, all around them. It's amazing.

"What are you doing out here?" I see Neteyam in my peripheral vision but choose to ignore him. I am enjoying my free time in the forest. Looking at all the things I used to study but never got to see.

"Why are you looking at a plant?" I look up at him offended.

"It's not just a plant. It's a arnoldii rafflesia. It's insane. It's a parasite plant, and it's completely reliant on a host, it doesn't even have roots or a stem! They are on earth too from what I've heard."

He comes to bend down next to me and scrunches his nose in disgust.

"It smells like shit." I laugh lightly

"Yea it does. It's known as a corpse flowers, meaning it pretty much always smells like decaying flesh. But it's known for producing the largest flower, at least on earth." He's looking at me again, his stare making me feel hot. "Sorry, I'm probably boring you with this."  I quickly stand up stepping a few feet away from him.

"Alright lets get out of here mip 'evenge."

"That means new girl right?" Is this us getting along?

"So you do know Na'vi." He smirks at me. That damn smirk.

"Maybe." I grin at him before walking past into the village. He follows closely behind me, guiding me to a sitting area.

"Today you will learn to use a bow." My eyes widen. I've never even held a weapon. My hand eye coordination is shit. "Eat lunch and I will find you when it is time to go."

I salute him before he turns away and walks off. Were we just being friendly? He was nice to me. I was nice to him. No arguments happened. Maybe we can be civil now. That would be awesome.

All of a sudden someone sits in front of me. She's gorgeous. Her hair is dark and braided and her eyes are a beautiful amber color. She just sits there for a minute and I question whether I was supposed to talk first.

"I'm Callisto. Some people just call me Cally." I'm nervous. I haven't talked to anyone outside the Sully family, except Norm and Spider who hardly count.

"I'm Amelia." That was good. Short and quick. Don't panic. Don't say anything else to embarrass yourself...

"Did you know that your name means beautiful in the Greek language? It's-uh very fitting for you." Damnit Amelia. Was that flirting? Should I be flirting? I mean she is pretty. Shut up Amelia.

Her ears perk up and cheeks flush.

"What is Greek?"

"Um it's a language on earth." She looks genuinely interested which is the only reason I haven't curled up into a ball of misery. I have never been great with people, my social anxiety makes it way to stressful.

'Do you want to get some lunch? You can sit with my friends and I if you'd like." She points over to a group of 3 sitting over to the side. Two of them are wrestling while the other laughs at them. When they see Calisto they wave and one throws up the peace sign.

"Sure- Yea that-um sounds good." She smiles at me in amusement from my flustered state. I quickly stand up moving to where everyone is getting lunch.

By the time we get all of our food her friends have settled down. The two boys are sitting and the girl is standing, waiting for Calisto.

My nerves start creeping up as we get closer and closer. I'm going to make a fool of myself. What if they already hate me? I never had a highschool experience, is this what the first day feels like? Oh no I can't do this. My breath is a little heavier and I can already tell I'm flushed.

Cally puts her hand on my lower back when we arrive. All three look up at me, oh no. This is not good.

"You brought the human?" The largest boy sitting in the back questions Cally.

"Shush you moron, she is nice and obviously very lonely." I smile at the fact she defended me. I forgot that they think I don't understand them.

"Leave the girl alone Prakash." The other girl speaks up. Prakash just stares at me for a moment before shrugging.

"Amelia this is Prakash, Laya, and Rafael." I quietly wave to them with a shy smile and follow Cally as she sits down. I want to tell them the meaning of their names, just as I did Cally but I refrain. They don't need to see you as a nerd too Amelia.

"Did you hear about Tarani? Everyone thinks that her and Neeraj mated secretly but her parents found out and that's why none of has seen her in like a week." Laya starts talking about drama in their clan, all of them quickly fall into their usual chatter. Their dynamic is cute, Prakash and Rafael joke around while Cally and Laya gossip. Rafael makes fun of Cally most of the time, I think he likes her.

I answer questions when I'm asked but I don't really know what they are talking about most the time.

"Amelia" I look over at Prakash, whose seemed to warm up to me y now. "You want to hear a joke?"

"Uhm sure."  I look around and see that the rest of them are either rolling their eyes or laughing.

"Okay ready?" I nod. "What do you call a pig that does karate?" Does he even know what karate is?

"A pork chop." His face deflates while the rest of the group laughs uncontrollably.

I'm confused, I thought I was supposed to answer. But he looks so upset.

"Um- wait do it again."

"Fuck no that defeats the purpose." My brows furrow and I look down at the ground. I suck at making friends.

"Amelia." A new voice fills my senses and I recognize it as Neteyam. Thank god. For the first time I am relieved that he is here. I smile at Cally and the rest of group before going to Neteyam.

Cally grabs my arm and smiles at me kindly. "It was nice meeting you Amelia, you should sit with us again." The whole group gives an array of goodbyes, even Prakash. I grin widely at her, ecstatic from the invite.

"Time to go."
