"So, what happened?" Anaya's voice echoed in my ears. I looked up from the ground to see her walking backwards in front of me.
Inhaling sharply, I spoke, "I cursed at my mom and I got the shoe." The cold feeling of ice made me cringe. It shifted against my cheek. Mother didn't mean to get my cheek, but she did.
"Seriously, again? You need to start working on dodging that." She turned around, walking normally. "It's Ike you're getting hit on purpose sometimes."
"Anaya."
"Yeah?"
"You're walking in wet cement." She was indeed walking almost ankle high in wet cement. I have no idea how she didn't notice. The girl panicked and quickly got out of the area. A sigh came from her then she started walking in the opposite direction we were originally headed. "No you don't," I grabbed Anaya's arm and continued walking towards school, "there are showers and they have extra uniforms. You're still going to school."
"But they don't have extra thigh highs..." she drug out her words, but didn't bother fighting my pull, "I need a new pair! I can't walk around school with normal socks on, that would make me look stupid!"
"Yeah yeah, get over it-" I interrupted myself with a small yelp as I tripped over something. Quickly, I caught my balance. In the process of doing so, I accidentally let go of my friend. A small scream was heard as she fell face first onto the ground. That's gotta hurt. I started helping her up.
Anaya is one of those that get hurt easily. She's really clumsy, but it makes her one of the "cuter" girls at school. A few people have tried asking her out, but sucks for them that she's never gonna say yes. Her persona is a "Heart Breaker." Cringy I know. She'll act innocent and cute to get people to like her only to ultimately reject them.
"Come on, lets get you to school and to the nurse." She nodded and continued walking towards the school with me. Her nose was bleeding, so I had to help her not get blood all over the sidewalk. A lot of people tend to think Anaya's clumsiness is an act. Honestly though, I've never met someone who's gotten more hurt than her in one day. It sounds unbelievable, but one time she tripped over her self, dropped a plate of cups of water, landed in a way that broke her leg, and got soaked with the water. I swear, she amazes me sometimes. That happened during our eighth grade school festival. Our class had decided to do a cafe and make Anaya a waiter. In the end, it was a very bad idea. She would probably win an award for being the clumsiest person alive.
"Jules, snap out of it, you need to get to class. I can go to the nurse on my own." Anaya's voice spoke with slight worry.
I responded after a moment, "yeah, sorry. I'll head there now." I carefully let Anaya take the tissue from me then looked up. We, at some point, made it to school and already in the building. That would explain why Anaya sounded worried. I didn't even realize where we were. Her shoes tapping on the ground made me snap out of it yet again. Huffing slightly, I started making my way to my class.
I didn't realize how often and much I space out. Perhaps I should get that checked out. It's not exactly normal to start talking to yourself in your head like you're in some kind of book after all. Sometimes I think I'm actually tarting to go insane from this school. Oh no, don't tell me I'm the villain in this book in my head or something. No. That wouldn't make sense. If I'm documenting everything about myself then I would be the main character, also making me the hero. The main character is never the villain. Yeah, I can't be the villain then.
"Mr. Sap. I presume that you do know that answer to question 57 then?" The voice was loud. One that could only belong to the most bothersome teacher in all of Ushun Academy: Mrs. Peral. I looked up, pausing to move a pice of my hair out of my face. It's getting down to my shoulders, I need to cut it again. Before I could finish tucking the dirty blond strand under my beanie, Mrs. Peral spoke up again, "I am waiting, Jules." Glancing around, I finally realized that I was in my class. When the hell did I even get here.
A small sigh escaped my lips before speaking, "the answer is D, ma'am."
"Of course you would be wrong." She walked up to the front of the class. "The answer is C. If you would actually pay attention and cross the X out on both sides. You get, X=47^2."
"Mrs. Peral, x=47^2 is D." Some student blurted out while others snickered at the mistake made by our teacher.
Almost immediately she looked at the answer choices as blush spread across her face in embarrassment. She started yelling about how not to correct her. I sighed and simply looked back down at my book.
This is gonna be a bothersome day, isn't it?
