Chapter 13

I woke up to the sun shining on my face, I squeezed my eyes shut then opened them, oops... I fell asleep. I jumped up, taking off down the steps, heading back for the marauder's dorm.

I opened the door and was immediately hugged,
James said" Bloody hell! We were worried ill!"
I said" I'm sorry, I fell asleep."
" Your nose is as red as a flame. Where did you fall asleep?"
" On a tower window... it was so quiet."
Remus said" Into bed with you, can't have you catching a cold." I giggled as Sirius lifted me up and dropped me onto my bed, I smiled at him.
He said" Sleep!" I laughed as he covered my eyes,
" Sirius, love, you're not helping."
" Oops. Well, since I'm not helping, I'm joining the nap." He fell next to me, I laughed and cuddled him, he smiled as Remus looked at him annoyed.
" Git."
" I know I am. You love it." I closed my eyes, yawning," Look at that, I guess I am helping, hm?"

I was cornered by Severus Snape, I gulped and held onto my book tightly,
I said" E-Excuse me..."
He said" Why is everyone so interested in you? You're nothing..." I frowned," I mean, I understand why everyone knows you're a coward, you let your parents die, it's the most cowardly thing a child can do." I looked down," And now look at you, not defending yourself, you're absolutely pathetic. You're a failure. Your parents must have hated you. You're the weak little thing in a family of high power."
I mumbled" I-I'm not- I'm not weak."
" Hm? What was that?" I looked up, staring at him,
" I am not... I am not weak."
" Then you're a lousy liar." He pushed me down, I whimpered as I hit the ground, then pulled my knees to my chest. Tears slid down my face," You're weak, Chadwick. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise." He walked away, I hid my face as more tears streamed down, I stayed tucked away against the wall.

I heard Reggie say" Maisie? Love, are you alright?"
I heard a boy say" What're you doing, Reg?! Let's go!"
" Hold on, Barty. Maisie, Maisie, hey, it's Reggie..." I peeked up," Why're your eyes so red? Have you been crying?"
" Reggie! Come on!"
" Hold. On." The boy huffed," Maisie, what happened?"
I whispered" I know I'm weak, you don't have to pretend..."
" Weak? Love, you have faced a chimaera and a dark wizard... and came out alive! You are not weak, now who put that into your head?"
" S-Severus Snape." He sighed, his jaw clenched,
" Of course... that ass. Come on, you're coming with us."
Barty said" What?!"
" Shut it, you git."
" Why does she have to come with us? We'll get into loads of trouble if we're caught!"
" Because she's Maisie... Maisie Chadwick."
" The wardrobe girl?"
" Yes. Mention it, and I'll hex you. Here, stand up, Maisie." He held out his hands, I took them and we stood up together, he smiled at me." Come on, we're going down to Hogsmeade, care to join?" I smiled, nodding my head," That's Barty, he's sorta a prick, but he won't hurt you. We're meeting our friend, Evan."

We got to Hogsmeade, another boy ran up,
He said" Who's this little thing?" He grinned at me, and ruffled my hair, I shy'd away, slightly behind Reggie.
Reggie said" This is Maisie Chadwick."
" Chadwick? As in... Bloody hell, I didn't know she was that young."
I said" Reggie, can I get ice cream?"
Reggie said" Yeah, love. Here." He gave me a few sickles, I ran to the ice cream parlor.

I looked at all of the flavors, I smiled as I saw toffee flavored,
The cashier said" Picked yet, sweetheart?"
I said" T-Toffee, please. In a cone." She nodded and began getting it, I put the sickles down as she walked back up and handed me the ice cream cone. I bounced on my toes," Have a good day!" I walked out, beginning to lick the ice cream, I smiled at Reggie.
He said" Good pick?" I nodded, bouncing on my toes," Alright, Nugget, we're gonna go into the quidditch store, here's some sickles, you're be bored to death in there."
" Wh-Where's the marauders?"
" Don't know, love. But, you're safe with me, alright?" I nodded, smiling," I'll find you in a bit after we're done, alright?"
" Alright!"
Evan said" She's too bloody young to be parentless."
Reggie said" Evan..."
" Sorry..."
