Mandalorian - See the stars

Start from the beginning

"Here" he said closing the book and handing it to you like it wasn't a big deal.

"Thanks" you said pulling it from his hands harder than expected.

You turned around to leave but he grabbed your shoulder and spun you around so you were facing him.

"Sir?" you asked in confusion.

"Yn..." he said.

You put your head down and stayed silent.

You hadn't heard that name spoken since you were a child.

"I-is that...your name?"  he asked.

You nodded quickly and stepped back.

He stepped closer.

You stepped back again.

The process repeated until your back was against the wall and he was just inches away from you.

"Yn?" he asked.

"Y-yeah?" you stuttered.

"Come with me" he said taking your hand and walking out of the ship.

You trailed behind him.

It was night.

You both walked to an open grassy field.

Mando stopped and laid down.

"C'mon," he said patting a spot next to him.

You sat down a few feet away from him.

"C'mon" he chuckled "closer"

You scooted a little closer.

"Fuck this" he muttered.

He launched himself onto you and started tickling you like a father would his daughter.

You and him were laughing.

He started tickling up on your neck and your helmet somehow came off.

You broke into a cold sweat and buried your face into your knees which were huddled to your chest.

Mando grabbed your helmet and tossed it aside.

"Hey Y-yn?" he asked.

No response.

"Can I see your f-face?" he asked in embarrassment.

Your ears twitched.

You sighed in defeat knowing that you couldn't get your helmet on without him seeing your face.

You slowly lifted your head up until your face was revealed entirely.

Mando looked at you in awe.

You were looking down and your face was red.

You never thought of yourself as "pretty" or "beautiful", more like "hideous" and "ugly".

Mando lifted up your chin so your watery eyes were looking directly at his helmet.

"Since I saw your face, I figured it would only be fair..." he started, taking his helmet off.

You quickly covered your eyes so you didn't see him.

He just sat there beside you, helmet in hand.

"Yn?" he asked.

You stayed silent.

His voice sounded like heaven to you.

He cupped your face in his hands after moving your hands from your face.

Your eyes were shut tight.

"Yn...look at me..." he begged, "...please?"

Your face softened and you slowly opened your eyes.

Mando wiped the tears from your eyes so you could see him with clear vision.

You looked into his deep brown adorable eyes.

He stared into your y/e/c eyes.

He turned his attention to the sky.

"Yn, look," he said.

You looked at the sky in amazement.

Your knees were huddled to your chest and the bottom of your face was buried by your folded arms so you could see the sky.

"Funny" you muttered.

"I-I forgot..." you let tears stream down your face "how the stars looked..."

"Without my helmet..." you whispered through quiet sobs.

You sat there for a few minutes with beyond-teary eyes as Mando just stared.

After a minute, Mando came a little closer to you.

He gently put his arm over your shoulder.

You leaned your head against his shoulder.

He rested his head on top of your head.

"I love you" he heard you mutter.

"What?" he asked

"N-nothing" you stuttered.

The message was meant for him but he wasn't supposed to hear it.

"No, no, what did you say?" he teased.

"N-nothing" you stated drying the tears on your face.

"Did you just say 'I love you'?" he asked.

You stayed silent.

"Well, either way, I love you too kiddo" he admitted.

You looked at him in confusion.

"You?" you asked in disbelief.

"Yup" he answered.

"Love?"

"Yup"

"Me?"

"Also correct"

"W-why?" you stammered.

He looked at you seriously.

"Yn, your the best person I've ever met," he said, "Your kind, generous, humble, caring, sharing, amazing, awe-"

"No" you cut him off.

"Yn?" he asked confused.

"Im not any of those things, I'm worthless," you said.

"Yn, I love you," he said hugging you tight "If I love you, you're worth more than me"

"Thanks sir," you said getting teary-eyed again.

"Din Djarin," he said "but you can call me Din or Dad"

He was a little embarrassed about the last part

"Thanks  𝒟𝒶𝒹 " you said into his chest (cuz u guys were hugging n'stuff).

He smiled down at you.
