*Clomp*... *Clomp*... *Clomp*...

*Clomp*... *Clomp*... *Clomp*...

*GASP*

I opened my eyes, starring at the ceiling of my room. A nightmare had me stuck in my dreams; it made me feel like I couldn't escape it. I was running, I yelled and begged for help but there was no one around to help me. I could hear the stomps, getting closer and closer each time. My body fell to the ground in exhaustion and as I turned around, I couldn't see what was following me but it was big, I could feel it. His stomps got closer and as it did, I tried protecting myself with my arms covering my face and then... I woke up. It was 11:30 a.m. I  sat on my bed forgetting with ease the bad dream I just had as it came to my mind the thought of what I was gonna do today. In an instant my body got full of excitement. I stood up and ran out my room ready to do my morning routine. I was excited, a bit too excited if I'm precise. The desire to see what the day would bring me, only brought wonders to my mind. It wasn't like it was a party that I haven't been too or a festive day on our small town, but it was special since I was finally able to see once again my beloved girlfriend and her family. They had invited me to a traditional festive day of their hometown. I took a quick shower, ran into my room with my towel almost falling from the excitement I had on me. I went to my closet and picked out the outfit I had set for that day and put it on. After that, I headed to the cabinet and sprayed some perfume. I looked at myself one last time in the mirror, I stared for a while and after feeling a small sentiment of regret, I just smiled at myself and fixed my hair. I didn't wanted to leave my grandmother alone that day, she wasn't feeling well but she insisted I should go.

"Goodbye, Grandma! I promise I'll get home soon to help you with your medicine." I walked towards her kissing her cheek and hugging her tightly.

"Yeah sure just be careful Samael, I don't know exactly what does the people over there are celebrating but please, just take good care of yourself." She held my face and I smiled at her nodding and stood straight, feeling her soft and delicate hands touch my cheeks for the very last time.

....I didn't think about it, why would I? There was no way I could've predicted something like that would happen... Oh, sorry, I digress.

I turned around, grabbed my keys and walked to the door leaving the house. I headed to my car, hopped on and took out my keys, turning on the engine of the car and took out my phone setting up the GPS with the directions that my partner gave me.

"Ain't that odd." I told myself while staring at my phone seeing as the destination of the location took me into a place which didn't show up in the map.

...Who would have thought? No.. No one would've...

I payed very little attention to it and just followed the directions where it lead me. After an hour and a half, I finally got to the place. It was jammed with traffic, I was a bit worried since I didn't know what to do, nor did I know the place and didn't know any alternate routes and the GPS had already stopped working. I had no other choice but to drive closer to the cars. At first I thought they were arguing but as I got closer, I could see that it wasn't the case. Everyone was leaving their cars there in the traffic gam and headed towards the town's plaza. I parked my car right next to all those other cars, I turned off the engine and left my car. I smiled to myself in disbelief; they didn't care if there was a traffic jam, they didn't care if there was no other way they could drive their car into the town, they just left and headed walking. Everyone seemed happy, they were laughing and having so much fun. I had never seen so much happiness before, how all these people just got careless of something so important as their car and just went to have fun, it was crazy. As I started walking, I looked for a slight moment towards every direction from all the cars had come and I stopped. It was weird, there were no more cars heading our way. Was it that no one else knew about this town's festive day? Was it that everyone was already here? Impossible. I stared for a while but in the end I just ignored it and kept walking. I took my phone and called my partner, it rang for a little bit and then she answered.
