Kei Tsukishima and Tadashi Yamaguchi had known each other for as long as they could remember. Yamaguchi liked to consider Tsukishima his friend, but whenever he thinks about the day they met, Yamaguchi seems to come to the realization that Tsukishima might've just been putting up with him all this time.

But it's quite the opposite. Tsukishima did, in fact, really like Yamaguchi. And although he was horrible with showing affection, Yamaguchi seemed to always understand the little signs of love Tsukishima would give him. It didn't have to be romantic love, platonic love was just fine for Yamaguchi, love at all really, was fine. As long as it was from Tsukishima.

It was the middle of summer, and the two had hung out almost every day, except for those off days when Yamaguchi had to watch the house as his parents went off on some business trip, or when Akiteru would drag Tsukishima to hang out with him. But other than that, it was nonstop.

Some days it really felt like Tsukishima didn't really want to see Yamaguchi, his mood and tone sounding quite harsh whenever he went to speak, but that was never the case. Never. Yamaguchi, on the other hand, was always bursting with joy whenever Tsukishima invited him over, even if it was just to sit in silence with each other's presence.

It doesn't sound like much, but that was one of Yamaguchi's favorite things. Just sitting in quaint silence as Tsukishima wrote in his notebook, or something of the sorts, while Yamaguchi pretended to do his own thing, when in reality his eyes only focused on the concentrated blonde in front of him.

Yamaguchi just liked looking at Tsukishima, as weird as that sounds. He recognized every single one of his facial features perfectly at this point, studying them every chance he got. The way his glasses perfectly frame his face, and the way his blonde hair would get slightly messy because of the way he would play with it while he was focused on a task.

That was one of Tsukishima's many small quirks that Yamaguchi found pretty damn cute. Anyone else but Yamaguchi would never believe that Tsukishima does so many small, silly things when no one's watching, but it was 100% true.

When facing a difficult math problem, he would ever so slightly stick the tip of his tongue out of the corner of his mouth, furrowing his brows in unison. All of those little quirks were what Yamaguchi loved about him, even though he would never come to admit it.

He had loved Tsukishima for god knows how long, but you better not believe he would ever admit that out loud. He was comfortable with the relationship that they had now, the peaceful, quiet friendship that they had, and Yamaguchi was not going to ruin that.

He got lost in thought thinking about that, snapping back to reality as Tsukishima nudged his shoulder lightly, his eyes focused on Yamaguchi's dazed face.

"The sun is starting to set, Tadashi." Yamaguchi loved it when Tsukishima called him that, even though he had been calling Yamaguchi that for as long as he could remember. It made him feel special, like Tsukishima was his. And then an idea sparked into his head.

"Let's go watch the sunset Tsukki. Please?" Tsukishima nodded, not saying a word as he grabbed a hoodie out of his closet. Yamaguchi then realized he didn't have a hoodie at all.

Would it be weird if he asked Tsukishima for one? No, it doesn't have to be weird, don't make it weird Tadashi.

"Can I have a hoodie too, I didn't exactly bring one.." And at that Tsukishima's lips curled into a small smile that Yamaguchi cherished, even if it was just for a moment. "You're so forgetful, Tadashi."

He tossed Yamaguchi a spare that he had laying around, laughing slightly as Yamaguchi struggled to pull it over his messy hair. As soon as his hoodie was on, or rather, Tsukishima's hoodie, they walked towards the front door, putting on their shoes before leaving.
