Sirens fill your ears. Red flashing lights blades throughout the room. Here you go. The nuke is going to go off.
A giant timer appeared next to the lever. 30 minutes.
You bolt out of the room, heading straight to the elevator, 049 right behind you.
You hit the button as soon as he enters.
An awkward silence hits you as you are slowly going up the elevator, as your death timer slowly ticks down.
The elevator opens. And just when you were about to run out and snatch 049's wrist, he beats you to it, snatching your hand instead and running.
Not your wrist or forearm.
Your hand.
He quickly opens the next door to a 4 way intersection. He looks both ways before looking ahead. Until he took a double take on one of the doors. He walks up to it, and presses the button.
A gate greets the two of you. And excitment fills you as you look up.
Gate B.
"Is this..." You ask.
"It's our way out." He responds.
You smile. You slowly got you keycard out, and put it on the scanner.
It made the all familiar beep as it turn green.
The gate grinding noise you hear as it slowly opens was the best thing you've heard in ages.
You slowly walk forward, and towards the elevator.
As you reach for the button, you freeze.
This is it. You're going to be escaping after this.
You look back.
But...
After this... you two will part ways...
You clench your jaw.
Then you notice you were staring.
You quickly look away and press the button to the elevator.
You wait without looking back, and insteed, you were looking at the floor.
A footstep. "You seem troubled... Is something wrong?" He asks gently.
That soothing voice.
You turn around.
Those pretty eyes.
"I..."
The one.
But... maybe it was never meant to be...
"I'm okay." You say.
"...Are you certain? You're... crying."
You looked at him with a confused stare as you felt your face.
Oh shit.
You quickly wipe your face with your arm, getting rid of all the tears on your face.
You turn back towards the elevator, still waiting for it to arrive.
"...I see..."
You didn't turn around
He mumbled something you were barely able to hear.
"So they feel the same..."
You perk up from looking at the floor, to the elevator.
He... He feels the same?
