The sun had disappeared, and the sky became dark. Y/n didn't know how long they had been following Dustin, but it felt like forever. Y/n was becoming more and more tired, she was exhausted, everyone was. But they couldn't stop, not now, not until Max and Eddie were safe.

Dustin had stopped for a minute "Something's happening." He whispered, and began running forward.

"Dustin? Can you slow down? Dustin?" Eddie called after the teen, but he didn't listen.

Y/n chuckled "Yeah, he's not gonna listen." She says to Eddie, "We might wanna catch him before he dies." She adds.

Eddie shook his head, and hurried after Dustin Y/n on his heels. Dustin was a little ahead of them, but he was right by the shore. He was looking back, and didn't seem to realize how close he was "I think we're getting close."

Eddie was quick to grab Dustin by his bag, pulling him back and away from the water "Watch yout step, big guy."

"Oh man." Steve complained "You gotta be shitting me."

"Yeah. I thought these woods were familiar." Eddie says.

"Lover's Lake." Robin said.

"This is....confounding." Dustin sighs.

"There's a gate in Lover's Lake?" Max asks in disbelief.

Y/n groans and shakes her head "That is just our fuckin' luck." She mumbles in irritation.

Steve sighs and places his hand on Y/n's lower back "Calm down." He says gently.

"Whenever the Demogorgon attacked, it always left an opening." Nancy said looking over at Y/n.

Y/n shivered at the memory "God, I wish we never went inside that tree." She whispered, "Maybe Vecna is the same way?" She suggests.

"Yeah, only one way to find out." Steve says.

Y/n nodded "Yeah but, uh, how are we gonna get to where we need to go?" She asks.

"I actually have a plan for that." Eddie said in a proud voice, "The boat I borrowed.....it's stashed like not that far away." He says.

Robin chuckles "Hell yeah, a little bit of luck!" She says.

Eddie smiles "Follow me." He says, leading them down shore.

He wasn't lying when he said it wasn't far, cause not even a minute later Y/n could see it. It was covered and sitting on the ground, hidden poorly near some bushes. Eddie stopped and pulled the cover off, to reveal the metal boat.

"Lets get this baby in the water." Steve said "Help me out here Munson."

Eddie picked up one end of the boat, and Steve got the other. Y/n watched as the two moved the boat, "Easy. I....I said easy, man." Steve stressed as they got part of the boat in the water.

Eddie had moved to Steve's side since he didn't want to get soaked, "Sorry, dude." He apologized sheepishly.

"Yeah, I'm just gonna do that." Robin said placing her hands on their heads, pushing them away, while using them as support as she climbed into the boat "Thank you."

"Yeah, that works too." Steve said as Eddie climbed in next.

Eddie held his hand out to Nancy "Wheeler." He says kindly, helping her into the boat.

"Thanks." Nancy says with a smile sitting beside Robin.

Eddie then held his hand out to Y/n, who accepted it with a smile "Thanks." She said before taking a seat.

Dustin tried to get on, but Eddie stopped him "Hey, hey, hey, you tryna sink us?" He asked "This thing holds four people tops, okay?"

"It's better this way, okay? You guys stay here with Max." Nancy says standing back up, and walking past Edide who sat down "Keep an eye out for trouble."
