-  P R O L O G U E  -

"Remember what we had?" she whispered, while she caressed my head that lay in her lap.

"I do, but do you remember why we lost it?" I rasped out, it was getting hard to breathe, the blood seeped out of my wound. Withering in pain I clenched my eyes shut and looked at her serene eyes filled with unshed tears, a pained expression on her face, only visible to my eyes. Only mine.

I closed my eyes and relaxed. The fight was over. No more bullets flew by me in a rush to hit their targeted flesh. No more screams died on the lips of my companions. The whole in my heart, the physical one at least stopped pounding in pain. Signalling me it was time to let go. I'll be there. I'll be there with the rest of my people soon. I closed my eyes and relaxed.

I let go.

And in the end she won.
