but uh im too lazy to continue directly off of this so just know that following this ryou broke free and killed the siren that was antagonizing cal and then they left while cal was still traumatized and staring at the spot where she just vaporized like 😟

every other species of mermaid/merman are these really elegant and beautiful creatures that are known for how gorgeous and sophisticated they are and then you have the swamp mermaids that are literally the equivalent of hillbillies that the rest of the mermaid community collectively agrees to try and ignore
