I was awoken by the smell of breakfast being cooked and jumped out of bed to see what my grandmother was making. Walking downstairs I screamed seeing my aunt and cousin

"Aunt Kim! Amber!" I wrapped my arms around them as we hugged each other

"Evelyn, you've grown so much! It's been what 11 years? How is my sister and your father?" she asked me a million questions as I stood excited to catch up

"Mmmmhmm! My mother is great and my dad wanted to drive down with me but work stopped that" I answered taking a seat at the table. My aunt was a beautiful women and was a carbon copy of my nana.

"Amber how have you been!" I asked as she took a seat besides me. Though we were two years apart I always felt like she was an older sister to me

"I've been good. Happy to see my baby cousin" she smiled. Nana sat all the food on the table and my mouth began to water. She made bacon, biscuits, pancakes, grits, and eggs! When I was younger my mother would tell me stories about the big fest my grandmother cooked her siblings. She was a single mom but did everything with a smile on her face.

"Is uncle Hector coming?" I asked stuffing some pancakes in my face

"Yes, he's coming later in the day but you and I are going into town" Amber nudged my shoulder

I've never been to the town. I thought we would be in the city seeing that it wasn't far

"What about the city" I asked without thinking. Everything looked at me and laughed.  Was something I said funny?

"Oh, Evie we don't spend our time in the city. That's for the locals and city folk who move here. The real part of Tennessee is outside of all that mess" my grandmother said laughing

My mother told me to stay within the city lines but I guess since Amber was coming it wouldn't be too bad. We went back to eating and talking before leaving.

...

"Ok! I'm ready" I chipped walking out the house. Since we were going to the town I wanted to wear a cute dress I recently bought with my favorite wedged sandals. Amber looked at me confused, she had on basic jeans with a flannel

"Evelyn... we're going to be walking a lot. Your feet will end up aching" she giggled as I looked at my shoes then hers. I thought my outfit was cute...

I didn't have time to change and just hoped in the car. If its a town then walking around should be quick and easy, I thought to myself.

It didn't take long for us to arrive the place was pretty active. I was shocked by how many people were out I always assumed everyone went to Nashville but there was a whole mini city out here in the suburbs.

"This is beautiful" I said walking out the car taking in the buildings. Amber smiled and started going towards a small shop at the corner.

"Where are we going first" I asked speeding up to match her paste. My sandals were clicking against the stone street and they were in fact already hurting but I wasn't going to let Amber know

"The local flower shop. Nana has been getting her fences renovated and wants to start gardening" she answered as we walked inside

"Hi! Welcome to Daisys" the lady greeted us in a thick accent

"Hi, do y'all happen to have any tulip seeds" Amber went to the front to ask for help. I wondered around the store looking at all of the plants everything was incredible and looked natural. I mean in Chicago we have many stores like home depo where they sell plants but these looked as if they were treated with the best care.
