You tried and failed to spit out the repulsive taste of copper from your mouth after being knocked onto the hard cement road by the piltovan enforcers. You wiped the blood from your lip before getting up and trying to continue at the same pace you were running at before you fell but it was no use. After having to wriggle your way out of their entanglers and pocketing them twice you were tired of running and having lost a considerable amount of your head-start, hiding was the only option.
You took a sharp turn down an alleyway you didn't recognize and stopped for a second to try and find a way up. In that second an enforcer made quick work to try and grab onto you but you were quicker. You threw your bag up to the roof of the building and climbed up it using drains and broken brick.
You retrieved your bag before running along the rooftop. You jumped down onto a random balcony and sat there till you were sure no enforcer had been able to follow you up there or find you. Once you came out of your hiding spot you ran as fast as your legs could carry you, looking down and trying to only focus only on moving one foot after the other. Once you thought you were far away enough you stopped for a second to scan the area you were in to try and find your way back.
"Last time I do a fucking errand" you whisper to yourself once you get you're bearings. After that, you made sure you were fast in getting home. Once you did you were greeted by your father's goons as one directed you to him.
"Dad I got your shit," You say in a distorted voice that makes you sound like a man. Your father immediately turned around confused as to why a man was calling him dad but sighed once he realized it was you.
"Thank you, and y/n please take your mask off indoors," Silco asked as he stood up to retrieve the bag.
You lift your hand to press a button on the left side of your mask and hold it down to remove your mask.
There's a hissing sound before the mask drops to reveal your face and you take your hood down.
"I see that scar is healing nicely," Dad says sticking his hand out for the bag.
"Yeah, doesn't hurt anymore" You sigh and turn around to head to your room.
"Y/N what is this?" You hear Silco call after you.
You turn your head and see him holding up two rolled-up pieces of paper
"Oh yeah, those are enforcer shifts for the dock loading this afternoon and which ships they plan on checking. I know you didn't ask for them but they were just sitting there so" You say with a shrug
He looks you up and down which makes you regret your chilled-out attitude but he gives you a reassuring smile
"Very good. Stay there a moment" He says turning around to check a notepad that was lying on his desk. He takes a moment to look in between you and the book as if lost in thought. A minute that feels like an eternity passes before he speaks
"How would you like to help your sister this afternoon in guarding the cargo?" He asks you with a smile.
"Really?" You ask, making sure he was in fact serious before celebrating. As cruel as it sounds he has gotten your hopes up just to tell you you're not ready before.
"Yes, I think this will be a good mission to get you back into the swing of things." He says circling his desk before leaning against the front of it.
"Like I can be on missions again?!" You ask, your hopes officially up.
"Well let's see how this mission goes shall we?" He says and you feel like hugging him but, you restrain yourself and you don't go that far.
"I won't let you down I promise." You say with a huge ear-to-ear smile across your face.
You walk out of the room slowly trying to hide your excitement but once you're out of his sight you immediately start running to go tell your sister.
You sprint down the hallways of your home until you get to Jinx's room. Her room/workshop is gigantic and the second you set a foot inside your step echoed throughout the entire room. This resulted in Jinx poking her head out from her work desk before you even called for her name
