"I couldn't care less about what that man believes in." Y/n muttered

"I've been on the wrong side of that code, Buck. and so have you, and y/n. He blew up the UN, he killed King T'Chaka and framed you for it. Did you forget that? You think the Wakandans forgot about it? It's a rhetorical question. They didn't. I know why this matters to you, but come on, it's pushing you off the deep end." Sam argued

"I agree with Sam, Buck. I'm not sure about this." Y/n said

"Sam, we don't know how they're getting the serum. We don't even know how many of them there are. Look, let me just walk you through a hypothetical. Can I walk you through a hypothetical?" Bucky said

"What did you do?" Sam asked him

"I didn't do anything." Bucky argued

"Yes, you did." Y/n said, she could sense that he was lying to them.

"Look, the weakest Point in any system isn't the software, the hardware, it's the meatware. The human element. Now, in this lockup, it's nine to one, prisoners to guards. And if two prisoners start fighting, then the protocol says four guards have to respond." Bucky started his "hypothetical".

"So why would two prisoners randomly start fighting at that moment?" Sam asked

"Who knows? There could be many reasons...but the point is, these things escalate. Lockdown procedures would have to be initiated, and with all those bodies flying around left and right, wouldn't be hard to slip down a hallway or two. And if the fire alarm got tripped while the prisoners were being separated...someone could use the chaos to their advantage." Bucky said

"I don't like how casual you're bein' about this. This is unnatural. Are you...and where are we, man?" Sam said

"This isn't a hypothetical, is it?" Y/n stated

The door opened to the room and the outline of a figure appeared on the white, plastic curtains. Y/n felt anger rise up in her as the durians parted to reveal none other than Zemo dressed as a prison guard.

"Knew it." She muttered in anger

"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Sam said

"No, listen." Bucky tried to placate them

"What are you doin' here?" Sam yelled in anger

"I didn't wanna tell you guys cause I knew you wouldn't let this happen." Bucky said to them

"Damn right." Y/n gritted out

"What did you do?" Sam asked

"We need him Sam ." Bucky said

"You're going back to prison!" Sam yelled

"If I may..." zemo started

"No!" The three of them yelled at the same time

He nodded. "Apologies."

"When Steve refused to sign the Sokovia accords, you backed him. You broke the law, and you stuck your neck out for me. I'm asking you to do it again." Bucky asked them both

"I really think I'm invaluable..." Zemo started to talk again.

"Shut up." Sam said

Sam shook his head. "Okay." He said

Bucky nodded to him and locked eyes with y/n. She looked up into his blue eyes with the intention of holding her resolve. But he stared at her so kindly, with pleading eyes. She knew if she didn't look away she would fold.

"Buck..."

"Please, y/n?" He asked her gently

Y/n huffed a sigh and looked away. "Fine."
