It was about 3:00pm Bri and Elle had been gone for about four hours and I had just finished unpacking my room. Now the whole house was unpacked and I was bored. So I decided to go out on the porch steps with my guitar and think of some songs. I thought of some lyrics to this one song I was writing. I titled it Realize. As I was writing it I thought about Darry I think that is how I wrote this song so easily because it made me think about my feelings of Darry.
"Take time to realize
That your warmth is
Crashing down on me
Take time to realize
That I am on your side
Didn't I, didn't I tell you?
But I can't spell it out for you
No, it's never gonna be that simple
No, I can't spell it out for you
If you just realize what I just realized
Then we'd be perfect for each other and we'd never find another
Just realize what I just realized
We'd never have to wonder if we missed out on each other, now
Take time to realize
Oh, oh, I'm on your side
Didn't I, didn't I tell you?
Take time to realize
This all could pass you by
Didn't I tell you?
But I can't spell it out for you
No, it's never gonna be that simple
No, I can't spell it out for you
If you just realize what I just realized
Then we'd be perfect for each other and we'll never find another
Just realize what I just realized
We'd never have to wonder if we missed out on each other, but
It's not the same
No, it's never the same
If you don't feel it, too
If you meet me half way
If you would meet me half way
It could be the same for you
If you just realize what I just realized
Then we'd be perfect for each other and we'll never find another
Just realize what I just realized
We'd never have to wonder
Just realize what I just realized
If you just realize what I just realized
Missed out on each other now
Missed out on each other now
Realize, realize, realize, realize."
As I was singing I heard someone walking up to the porch I thought it was the girls but it was Darry.
"You have a beautiful voice", he said sitting across from me on the steps.
"Thank you Darry," I said looking in his eyes while smiling.
"Where did you learn to play guitar and sing like that?"
"When I was 12 my dad got me this guitar and he taught me how to play," I answered thinking about my parents. Darry saw the gloom look on my face.
"They're dead aren't they. Your parents."
I looked up at him and said,"Yea. Both of them. When I was 13 my brother joined the military and he didn't make it. To take the pain away my parents drank and that ended in a bad car accident which killed them when I was 14."
"Yea both of my parents died a while ago in an automobile accident. I was 18 at the time and I looked after my brothers instead of going to college."
He started tearing up as well as I.
"Yea since I was young I got put in a foster home where the couple were not nice at all. I got this scar above my eyebrow as a reminder," I said pointing to my eyebrow.
"Sometimes I think why did my parents died and how I wish I could have stopped it," he said wiping his eyes.
"You couldn't have Darry and I couldn't have stopped mine either. Sometimes God puts us through situations that are made to make us stronger."
He looked up at me and smiled a bit then said," You know I haven't been able to talk about my parents death since then. Not even to my brothers. You're a good listener."
"I listen. I always listen," I said while looking straight at him.
He started looking at me after I said that and soon started leaning in as well as I. Our faces were inches apart when we kissed.
