The Next-Generation Squad Weapons project wasn't entirely useless with all of its proposed weapons being thrown out. The designs were all very good, and with the right adoption, they could be utilized effectively.

This is becoming a common theme in recent development periods, tech proposals either merging or becoming its own unique little platform.

The Sig MCX Spear became the Standard Issue Rifle for the United States Military, under the M5 Designation. By the time the story begins, there is a specialized .30-06 variant for Special Forces, and the rifle itself is in its M5A2 Variant for the rest.

The GD-OTS Bullpup became a standard issue self defense weapon for Crews, under the MK5A1 designation. Crews of tanks, pilots, and the like are all armed with this thing, capable of fighting should their vehicle ever go down. It is not present on Terra till more bases are built up.

- There is currently 3 UN bases, New Roanoke, one in the old city, and the other in Lungmen. The old City base is New Geneva, and the Lungmen base is Main Bade Syracuse -

The Final rifle, due to its similarities with the M5, wasn't bothered with.

On the other side of the North American continent, things in British Columbia begins to unfold.

"This is Sierra-1 Actual, we're taking enemy fire, how copy?!"

"This is 11 Delta, resend traffic, it's coming through unclear-"

On the other end, the radio sparked as a bullet went through it, the operator grunting, in panic, "Shit!" That Marine went back to fighting, firing his M5 into the muzzle flashes of OpFor.

The radio operator looked at one of his crew-mates next to him. She nods, solemn, before pressing in a panel, "Looks like intel was right."

"Fucking socialists are holed up with old Chinese equipment and Canadian equipment in this sector of Victor India," the Radio operator began to change his frequency.

Speaking of Bravo Charlie, or British Columbia, campaigns in the region had been slowing to a halt. The old province was being starved by the combined efforts of the United States Navy and United States Air Force, as well as the Pro-American Canadians ( which by now, is what the Canadians - who decided to align, Union, peacefully with America after the collapse of eastern Canada - call themselves) and the Colombians.

The very latter shocked the Americans, but it was a welcome one.

However, the old province had a little help themselves. Vancouver Island, which was apart of the province, was independent.

All political logic would have dictated that the island would be hostile to British Columbia.

However that isn't what happened, if why is happening now is proving.

Politics of North America report

At the moment, only a few political entities really exist within North America, these being the United States of America, the State Republic of Mexico - which is apart of America, the Caribbean Federation - also apart of America, and the Central American Federation.

Canada does not exist in this Political Entity list, due to the fact that they no longer properly exist as a political figure. However, 2 entities persist in Canada that seem to be actively resisting America . This of course, is British Columbia and Vancouver Island, which is funded by the People's Republic.
