The proposal

A- I don't know why I'm nervous
Br- me neither, it's just my sister
A- yeah
Ld- I'm gonna go use the bathroom
A- ok
Lexis dad leaves
A- the house looks perfect man
Br- it better, it was a pain putting it all together with my dad
A- yeah sorry I wasn't here
Br- I know you were getting ready for the big proposal
Andrew shushes him
A- shh, how'd you know?
They whisper to each other
Br- I saw the box in your picked and put two and two together
A- sorry I didn't mention that last part
Br- it's like the most important part
A- I know, but you guys probably would have never helped me if I told you
Br- true, but my parents are gone be pissed when you propose
A- it's not like we're gonna get married straight away
Br- a yeah
A- we have to keep this marriage talk away for right now
Br- ok
Lexi's dad come out
Ld- hey guys, I got the text
A- ok, let me go hide
Andrew goes and sits down on the couch and waits for Lexi. They hear the car pull up into the driveway. They both get out and walk to the front door. Lexi looks confused when she sees the house looking so romantic
Lr- what's going on?
Lm- I don't know
They open the door
Br- hey sis
Lr- hey Brent, what's going on?
Ld- just follow the rose petals
Lexi follows the rose petals into the kitchen and looks around
Lr- there's nobody in here
She keeps walking and sees Andrew on the couch
Lr- Andrew?
Andrew stands up and walks over to her
A- hey babe. Thought I could surprise you
Lr- I love it. I love you
A- I decided to come back early
Lr- I can see that, but why so early? I mean not that I don't love that your here
A- I didn't want to miss out on anything, and I wanted to be here with you
Lr- I'm glad you are. And did you sleep in my bed earlier?
A- yeah how'd you know
Lr- it was made like how you usually make your bed
A- yeah and I left my earring there too
Lr- I thought you were back. And I'm so happy that you are
A- but that's not it
Lr- what?
Andre beds down on one knee and gets the ring out of his pocket and opens it
A- I know that it might seem sudden or too early, but it doesn't need to happen right now. I love you and I will love you forever. You have a beautiful soul and smile and you have the biggest heart. If you don't want to get married to me, I'll be hurt, but if that's what you want. Let me just get to it, Alexa brook Rivera, will you marry me?
Lr- yes of course
Andrew stands up and Lexi kisses him
Ld- seriously?!
A- sorry I didn't tell you guys earlier. I didn't think you guys would help set all of this up if I told you
Lm- as long as you guys don't get married before you graduate, I'm fine with it
Ld- if you hurt my daughter in any way
A- I know, but I could never hurt Lexi. And sorry about the not asking for permission thing
Lm- don't worry about it
Lr- I'm so happy right now
Lm- you guys are in charge of cleaning this up
Lr- I have to go to the bathroom
Br- yeah and I'm meeting with Pierson for dinner
A- I'll clean it up
Lm- thanks
Lexi goes upstairs to her bathroom and pukes and Brent heads out to dinner with Pierson. Andrew cleans everything up and turns on a movie. Lexi comes downstairs a half an hour later in her sweats
A- hey babe
Lr- hey
A- how are you doing?
Lr- I'm pretty nauseous
A- I'm sorry
Lr- it's fine
She comes over to the couch and sits down
A- come here baby
Lexi scoots over to Andrew and he cuddles her
Lr- I'm sorry if I didn't make it seem like I wanted you here on our call
A- you didn't
Lr- I was just not feeling well at all that day, and I guess I could've changed my tone
A-  no I get it, your hormones are getting the better of you and I've heard that pregnancy can make people's mood change
Lr- where'd you hear that?
A- google. I researched everything so I could be more helpful to you. Which is why I'm gonna start giving you foot massages
Lr- really?
A- yep, and maybe some back massages too
Lr- you don't have to do that
A- it's fine, I want to. I mean your giving up your body for the baby, I can help take care of you
Lr- thanks babe
A- no problem
They watch the movie and Lexi falls asleep on the couch.
A- oh lex
Andrew caresses her head and then goes and gets a blanket for her. He spreads the valley all across her and sits back down. He puts her head in his lap for a pillow and continues to watch the movie. An hour later, Brent gets back from his dinner with Pierson and heads to the kitchen. He looks over and sees Lexi asleep on the couch and Andrew sitting there watching the movie. He walks over there and sits near them
A- hey Brent
Br- hey bro, congrats on the engagement
A- thanks, I wasn't sure she'd say yes
Lexi wakes up
Lr- of course I said yes
A- did I wake you?
Lr- a little bit
A- I'm sorry baby
Lr- it's fine. What time is it?
Br- 11 I think
Lr- I'm gonna head to bed then, it's pretty late
A- ok babe. I've gotta go back to Danny's place tonight.
Lr- that's like a half an hour away
A- I know, but I'll be back tomorrow
Lr- are you sure? You could always just stay here
A- I'm not sure your parents would approve, and plus, my moms gonna send my money tomorrow to get an apartment
Lr- ok. I just want you to know your welcome here
A- I appreciate it
Lr- I love you
A- I love you too, I'll see you tomorrow
Lr- ok, bye baby
A- bye
Lexi goes upstairs and goes to sleep
A- see you Brent
Br- bye Andrew
Andrew leaves and goes to Danny's place. He gets there at 12 because he stopped and got some food at McDonald's
D- hey bro, why are you back so late?
A- I got some McDonald's on the way over here and it was packed
D- I mean it's pretty late
A- I know, I waited until Lexi went to sleep to come back
D- so? How'd it go?
A- well I don't have the ring
D- so she said yes?
A- yep, and her parents had no idea until it happened
D- what about Brent?
A- he saw the ring in my pocket cause it was still in they box
D- I'm happy for you
A- thanks. Now I gotta go to sleep, I'm apartment hunting tomorrow after my mom sends me the money
D- why do you have to get an apartment?
A- I don't wanna ruin your game with the ladies, and plus, the baby will be pretty loud once Lexi has him or her
D- you guys don't know the gender yet?
A- nope. And I am waiting patiently to find out
D- it's killing you
Danny and Andrew laugh
A- literally killing me, especially since my mom registered me with the selective service
D- well you would've had to do it anyways
A- I know but they said as soon as I turn 20, their gonna take me in, and that cant happen
D- they might not
A- but what if they do? That's in like two years
D- you'll be fine Andrew
A- what about the baby and Lexi
D- I'm sure that they'll be fine, just don't die in service
A- yeah cause it's just that easy
D- why don't we talk more tomorrow? It's senior skip day tomorrow so I'm not going to school
A- where are you going?
D- to Disneyland with Sebastian and Lee
A- that sounds fun. I wonder when Lexi's senior skip day is
D- just ask her
A- I will, tomorrow
D- ok night bro
A- night man
Andrew goes to sleep. He wakes up around 8 am and goes into the kitchen. He sees a note from Danny that says he already left for Disney and should be back around 7 pm
A- damn that's a long time
He grabs a granola bar and gets in the car to go over to Lexi's. He realizes how dirty his car is so he goes to a car wash on his way to Lexi's. He gets to Lexi's about 10 ish. He sees that her cars still in the driveway so he gets out and knocks on the door. Lexi's mom comes to the door with a mask on and puts up a sign that says, "no outside company. We can't risk Lexi getting sick"
A- I haven't been anywhere since here last night
Lm- did you see anybody?
A- just Danny, and I stopped by McDonald's on my way home
Lm- just FaceTime Lexi. We can't afford anybody coming in here until everything has died down
A- they said not for at least two weeks
Lm- then that's how long we'll wait
A- ok, just tell Lexi I love her and I will FaceTime her when I get back to Danny's
Lm- I will
Andrew gets back into his car and Lexi's mom goes up to her room. She knocks on the door
Lm- are you ok honey?
Lr- not really.
Lm- I would come in but I don't want to get you anymore sick than you already are
Lr- I'll be fine
Lm- what about the baby?
Lr- ok. What's going on?
Lm- Andrew came by to see you and he wanted me to tell you he'll FaceTime you when he gets back to Danny's
Lr- he should be fine to come in
Lm- I know but we just can't risk that
Lr- ok
Andrew gets back to Danny's a half an hour later and sees Danny's car in the garage.
A- well shit.
Andrew stays in his car and drives around the city. He ends up driving to San Francisco and he FaceTimes Lexi
A- hey babe
Lr- hey
Lexi coughs
A- are you ok?
Lr- not really
A- what's wrong?
Lr- the baby feels fine
A- that's good, but how are you feeling? Emphasis on the you part
Lexi chuckles
Lr- I have a sore throat, a cough, a runny nose, and I feel pretty nauseous
A- aren't you always nauseous?
Andrew chuckles
Lr- yeah, but it's different now
Andrew gets serious again
A- how?
Lr- it fells worse, like I'm about to hurl and I can't tell if I'm about to throw up or gag
A- it doesn't sound good. I would tell you to go see a doctor, but you might get sicker if you do
Lr- yeah, that's why I've just been at home this whole time
A- well I'm just driving around California right now
Lr- what? I thought you went back to Danny's
A- I did, but I saw his car in the parking lot and he was supposed to be at Disneyland until 7, so I thought it would be safer for me to just not go in
Lr- yeah, but you should probably call and check up on him
A- I will. I'm just trying to not freak out about what's going on
Lr- yeah it is kind of crazy and scary
A- yeah, I just hope that you and the baby are safe
Lr- and your family, pray to God
A- yeah. I've gotta go, but I'll call you back later
Lr- ok honey. I love you, drive safe
A- I will I love you too
Lr- bye
A- bye
Andrew hangs up and continues driving. He drives for 5 hours and stops to get a drink and some snacks at a gas station. He goes in quickly and pays for his stuff and rushes out into his car. He locks the doors and drives off.
A- that could've been close
Danny calls him
A- shit
Andrew answers
A- hey Danny
D- dude where are you and where have you been?
A- I'm in California
D- I called Lexi to see if you were with her and she said that you were driving around California
A- yep I am
D- why?
A- I didn't want to get in contact with anyone
D- well where are you specifically?
A- I told you, California
D- you do know that's a pretty big state, right?
A- I know. I don't know when I'll be back, but I will be in time for new years
D- it's October bro
A- I know, listen I gotta go, but I'll call you tomorrow. Goodbye Danny
D- bye bro
Andrew hangs up and calls Lexi
Lr- hey baby
A- hey
Lr- where are you? And what's going on?
A- I'm in California
Lr- why are you driving around California?
A- I can't tell anybody where I'm going
Lr- I'm not just anybody
A- I know, which is why I'm telling you. You can't tell anybody
Lr- ok
A- you promise?
Lr- I promise I'll probably forget anyways
A- you won't forget what I'm about to tell you
Lr- what is it?
A- I'm tracking down my dad. Once I saw there was a national pandemic, I knew I had to find him
Lr- so where are you going?
A- I'm heading to Mexico
Lr- WHAT?! Your going to Mexico?!
A- yes, which is why you can't tell anyone
Lr- where specifically in Mexico?
A- that I can't tell you
Lr- what?
A- cause I don't know for sure
Lr- please be safe.
A- I will, I promise. I'm going to make it back to you, alive
Lr- you better
A- I have to go now. I love you
Lr- I love you too
A- bye
