Teaching Elodie how to shoot a gun went smoother than I thought it would.

And it was all better than I could have imagined. Not that I did imagine. That would mean I was actively thinking about her, and I wasn't doing that. But I certainly didn't think that watching her learn how to shoot a gun would look so fucking pleasing to me.

She went in my footsteps and did as she was told, aiming well, evaluating her shot, and shooting as I taught her. As much as I wanted to reward her in my way, I had to lay off and result to words for all the effort she put into learning how to shoot properly today. Though it was hard knowing that whenever I came close to her, repositioned her, or touched our bodies for even a second, I felt her need for me at the moment. In fact, I could sense how much she wanted me throughout the whole session, but in certain parts of it, she must have hidden it quite well.

She shocked me with how well she got a hang of shooting. Of course, when she first suggested learning, I bound it out of the picture. I wouldn't let her just learn to shoot because she wanted to. First of all, she wouldn't need it. Secondly, teaching her to a point where she knows exactly how to use it and how to defend herself with it, will take longer than just a few days or weeks.

If she isn't as familiar with it as anyone who can actively use a gun, she could find herself at risk. If she was by any chance disarmed, she'd be done for.

That's also why I insisted on the self-defense lessons. However, today I got her focused on using a gun since she was already getting familiar with it, and I let her try a few more times before we got ready to go.

I was putting away the last gun she'd just used, which was another handgun she'd tried, when I feel the earmuffs laying around my neck being taken off of me. I place the gun down and turn my head to Elodie. She has both pairs of earmuffs in her hands, and she's moving into the space of the cabinet to put them back. I take a step back and let her put them away, while I just watch.

She returns them to their original spot and then steps away from the cabinet.

"Are we heading back now?" Elodie speaks when she turns to face me, her hands behind her back.

I look at her, locking eye contact.

"Yeah, just give me a minute," I tell her, turning back to the cabinet, and closing it up. I make sure it's locked and when I'm sure, I return to where Elodie is now standing. Her leather jacket was back on and she was standing near the door, waiting. I move to where my jacket rests on the coat hanger, slipping it off the hanger. I put the jacket on and located my car keys in the pockets.

"We'll be back here tomorrow," I tell Elodie, as I start to walk over to the door and pull it open. "Tomorrow will be different because we'll be learning self-defense. Which means, wearing something suitable. It'll get warm during our practice." I remind her.

"Mhm, okay. I'll find something." She tells me, going silent. I take a quick glance as we walk through the hall now, and I notice she's yawning.

I turn back and continue on my way, but not without a word. "Tired? We didn't do that much, did we?" I ask her, a small grin appearing in place of my expressionless face.
