The Chronicles of Cordelia Solo

Chapter 29 - Return of the Jedi

Cordelia stands next to Chewie as they wait for the doors to the bunker to open, Han on the opposite side. The doors open and a group of officers and stormtroopers emerge, slowing when they see the fallen troopers around them. 

Han moves to stand in front of the doors as the group turns, Ewoks emerging and surrounding them. Han smirks and shrugs at the group, and Cordelia rolls her eyes.

"One out of your thousands of ideas, Han. Don't be so cocky." She mutters to him as they make their way back to the control room.

"Oh, please, Bug. You know more of my plans have worked." He replies.

"Because of dumb luck." She tells him. He scoffs.

"Throw me another charge." He says, ignoring her statement. She rolls her eyes again but tosses it to him before she finishes setting up her own. 

They quickly run out of the bunker once the charges are set and Han yells for the group to get further back. He and Cordelia dive into the ditch in front of the bunker and he covers her body with his own, ensuring that any debris would hit him instead of his little sister.

Later, the group on Endor cheers as the Death Star explodes. Chewie lifts Cordelia off the ground and spins, roaring his excitement. She laughs and wraps her arms around him, letting her spin him until she starts to get dizzy.

When Cordelia's feet touch the ground, her two Ewok friends throw their arms around her and she smiles, crouching to hug them back. 

"Cory, get over here and tell your brother he's an idiot!" Leia calls. Cordelia sighs and walks over to them, glaring at Han.

"What'd he do now?" She asks.

"He told me that since I love Luke so much, he won't get in the way when he returns." She explains. Cordelia starts laughing so hard she falls to the ground, clutching her sides.

"Oh, that's hilarious. Han, you are so dumb about people's feelings. Is there some kind of emotional school you can go to? I think you need it." She says, finally getting her laughter under control. She sits up and looks at him. "You know how I love Lando and Chewie?" 

"Yeah." He replies.

"That's how she loves Luke." She tells him. He looks to Leia, and she nods.

"He's my brother. Actually, my brother." She explains. Han looks away to process and she tilts his face back to hers. She kisses him and Cordelia groans, looking away.

"A little warning next time would be great." She mutters as she returns to Chewie. Ewoks around them begin blowing horns and she smiles at the group around them, happy they were able to defeat the Empire again.

Cordelia stands nearby as Luke steps forward and lights the pyre of his father. She gives him space to mourn on his own, but stays where he can turn and see her, letting him know that she's there for him.

"You okay?" She asks when he turns and starts walking towards her.

"I will be." He replies. She loops her arm through his as they walk back towards the village.

"I know it's not the same, because I didn't really know my father, but if you ever want to talk about it, I'm your friend and I'm here for you." She tells him. He pats her arm and smiles.

"Thank you, Cory." He says. 

They return to the village and Luke drifts away from her, looking for Leia. Cordelia looks around and spots Lando and Han hugging as they reunite. She smiles and runs towards them, throwing her arms around them.

"Hey, Kiddo!" Lando says, pulling her into another hug.

"I'm so happy you're okay." She tells him.

"The feeling's mutual." He replies as Han leaves them and Chewie joins them, wrapping them both in a hug. Cordelia laughs, hugging her brothers tight, listening to Lando as he tells the story of exploding the Death Star.

Later, her two Ewok friends grab her hands and pull her towards the other Ewoks. They begin to dance and Cordelia laughs, spending the rest of her night dancing in celebration with them.

Guys, this is the last chapter! I know it was short, but it was sweet! If there are any other Star Wars characters you'd like to see a story about, comment and I'll consider writing a new story about them :)

I'll also consider any other characters not from Star Wars, though I probably won't do any that I don't know lol
