//Book 3// ~ Willow Week - Temporary Solution

Start from the beginning

"I don't care about what happened I want to know how to stop it." J'onn tells Marvin. "And you need to find me an answer. ASAP. Or else."

"Or else?" Marvin questions

"You don't wanna know." J'onn says. "You have 4 hours. You better start working."

...far away...

J'onn was right. He had been right since the beginning. Since the moment he realized what Willow's existence meant, since the moment he truly understood what ran through Willow's veins, he knew. He knew. And boy was he right. Willow was everything J'onn had said she was: dangerous, a liability, lethal, a weapon. But the one thing he never said she was? A killer

Willow keeps her hood over her head and her head down, not looking anyone in the eye and walking quickly through the streets. She shoves her hands into her pockets, trying to make herself as small as possible

She was exhausted from everything that had happened but every time she closed her eyes, she could see Kara falling to the ground, she could see Kara seizing, feel Kara's lips on her own, feel the electricity of their kiss...and it all reminded her that the two could never ever be together

Running away wasn't the smartest move by any means. But Willow knew that if she was in National City, her heart would only shatter into pieces, knowing that she was the reason that Kara was dead. She knew it. She knew that truth. That Kara was dead. There was no way around it. Kryptonite is lethal to Kryptonians. And kryptonite runs through Willow's blood, runs through her DNA, covers every inch of her body, and is released as if she had a small layer of radiation covering her skin at all times

And the two girls knew this. The two girls knew that they could never touch. They weren't supposed to. They have accidentally broken that rule a few times with quick hugs here and there. But every time proved the same result, Kara would be affected by Willow's kryptonite. It was inevitable

So how could Willow be so stupid and let her true feelings out? How could she be so stupid to kiss Kara, knowing what would happen? How could she do that to Kara? She was the reason Kara was dead. She knew it. And that was something she couldn't bare. It had taken a little over two hours after escaping National City to piece her memory together. She chalked it up to a trauma response that was hiding the true answer of what went down. Because, as she told J'onn, she truly could not remember what had happened. She doesn't even remember how she got to where she was now. She doesn't even know where she is

But the one thing she does know for sure? She can never go back to National City

"Oh my god...Kara..." Alex whispers with tears rushing down her cheeks as the doctors finally let her into the room after what felt like forever

Marvin stands in the doorway as Alex rushes over to Kara's side, grabbing her sister's limp hand. J'onn was nowhere to be found and Marvin knew that Alex needed someone here with her, even if they haven't always been on the best of terms

"You said it started from a kiss, right?" Alex asks, breaking the silence in the room. Alex then looks up at Marvin, locking eyes with him and letting him know that she was asking him for an answer

"Yes, in theory." Marvin says, walking forwards and getting closer to Kara's body. "You can see that the epicenter is from Kara's lips." Alex covers her mouth with her hand and Marvin's eyes widen. "Are you okay?"

Alex nods and sniffles, composing herself. "She just...she never told me she felt that way about Willow. She never told me that she liked girls..."

"Can I tell you something?" Marvin asks and Alex locks eyes with him again, nodding her head slowly. "I...I don't think either girl knew." He tells Alex seriously. "Any one of us could tell that they were best friends and loved each other but none of us could tell the extent that they loved each other. And it's times like these that really open our eyes to the truth." He sits down in the chair across from Alex on the other side of the bed. "Willow came into my life when she was 16 years old. And since the moment she stepped foot on earth, she was trained to be a soldier. She was never allowed to have connections or relationships. And Kara was the first friend she ever had. I think that their friendship went beyond the normal definition of love...almost to soulmate level..." He whispers

"Soulmates?" Alex whispers

"Yeah." Marvin says. "Because of what runs through Willow's veins, because of her DNA, because of what she is...her and Kara can never ever be together. But their love...I think that their love is stronger than anything."

"But she died when they kissed." Alex whispers. "How are either of them going to be okay knowing that they will never be able to be together?"

"Never is a strong word." Marvin says

"So you think there's a way?" Alex whispers. "You think there's a cure?"

"I think...I think we can work on one." Marvin says. "You love Kara and I love Willow. If we work together on this, with our dedication to the ones we love...I think we can do it. I think we can do...something."

Alex nods with tears in her eyes. And then suddenly, an alarm blares in the DEO...

***

"What the hell is going on?" Alex questions, running through the DEO with Marvin next to her. Both were rushing through the underground base after hearing all the commotion as well as all the soldiers arming themselves

"I have no idea." Marvin says as the two turn the corner to see many DEO agents with large guns in the center room around J'onn at the middle table. Upon seeing the scene in front of them, Marvin and Alex slowly down their steps

"Oh...whatever this is, it can't be good." Alex whispers, the two looking around at all the agents before Marvin takes a step forwards and begins to part the agents to the side, Alex following behind him as they continue to follow J'onn voice to the center

And there, in front of every armed agent in the DEO....was a picture of Willow Greene

"No...it's worse." Marvin breathes, realizing what this was

"Willow Greene is now the number one target of the DEO." J'onn announces to the group. "She has now been tagged as a National Threat. I want her brought back here ASAP. Alive if possible. And do not hesitate to use force."
