Somewhere in the valley
the girls drink bathtub gin
Somewhere in their rotten world
a gentleman comes waltzing inHe wears a lop-sided top hat
and a very becoming smile
Making his way to where she's at
has taken him quite awhileSomewhere in her wayward youth
She remembers someone like you
Full of dreams and blind to truth
but they could never doNow the turning of the tide
has brought the world to bear
and nothing's left of shameless pride
or eyes without a care
