First weekend without F1 🥲

Anyway, I only have three weeks left for my last term for 2022 so please expect slower updates 😂

Enjoy!

March 29, 2025 - Australia

By the time I arrived in Albert Park, qualifying was two hours away. The long flight from Nice was productive and by productive, I meant I slept the entire time. Knowing that I'd be gone the entire weekend, I finished the work that entailed me to be in the office, making sure that all that was left behind were case files that I needed to read on my laptop.

I met Charles' PR officer by the entrance since she was going to give me my paddock pass for the weekend. "How was the flight?" She, Ramona, asked as I put on the lanyard. Ramona was Italian, always dressed in a red Ferrari shirt with her blonde hair in a ponytail. She was a few years older than us, being the PR officer of Kimi when he used to drive for the team.

"Divine." I smiled, feeling energized with the amount of sleep I got.

When we crossed the entrance, photographers snapped my picture. There were a few familiar faces from the time I accompanied Charles to Bahrain and I gave them a small smile. I was wearing a black turtleneck top and high waisted gray pants, holding a cream leather jacket over my arm in case it got cold later on.

Ramona and I were passing through the paddock when someone called my name. I turned my head to the right to see Max waving at me, once again dressed in his race suit. A few weeks ago, Charles informed me that what they were wearing underneath were called fireproofs for added protection. Max began walking forward along with another driver who was wearing a different team logo. He had tanned skin, dark curly hair, and a smile that I knew would immediately brighten the mood of anyone he knew. He had a pair of orange headphones around his neck, a stark contrast to the white race suit he was wearing with the team name Haas.

"Nice to see you." Max greeted with two air kisses on the cheek.

"How was free practice?" I asked them both and Max cringed while the other one laughed.

"He kissed the wall during the last free practice and cost the team about five grand." The other guy cheekily said, ruffling Max's hair. "I'm Daniel, by the way."

"Nadia." I smiled back. "Good luck with qualifying."

"I hope I get pole." Max said and I raised an eyebrow at him.

"For my boyfriend's sake, I hope you don't."

As I walked to the end of the paddock where the Ferrari motorhome was, I could feel the eyes of almost everyone I passed by. When photographers continued to take my photo, Ramona reassured me to just smile and continue walking. I knew they were harmless but the feeling of being watched is something that I will never get used to.
