We were in a time crunch as her class had twenty minutes left, and with that at the front of my mind I didn't think to put the sweatshirt on. Although, it was still hung over my arm as I ran in.

The front lobby was empty as class was in session. I looked up and water dripped from my hair down my face. I tried my best to dry off but there was really no use; my shirt was basically see-through, but at least the poster wasn't ruined.

I put the poster down and threw the sweatshirt on before catching up to Jackson who was halfway down the hall.

"Way to wait asshole." I mutter, walking beside him.

"You didn't ask me to." he says, walking even faster.

I scoff at the action and speed up myself, "And you said you didn't want to go to school." I argue back.

"I compromised actually," he points out.

"How so?" I press him.

"Well I'll stay for the next twenty minutes, then I'm leaving you here." he laughs.

I absorb what he says before coming up with an idea because there was no way I was staying after her class either.

I had none of my stuff.

"Here." I say, holding the poster out to him. "If you want to speak you can carry it."

He rolls his eyes and just like I knew he would, he takes it out of my hands without another thought.

"But back to you trying to leave me here..." I trail off.

"Which I am." he butts in.

"You would be able to do that...if you had your keys." I shrugged.

"What–"

Quickly, I snatch them out of his hand and bolt down the hall. I hear him run after me as I turn the corner.

I was practically wheezing as I stumbled into class. The sound of applause filled my ears before I was bumped from behind.

Jackson reached over my shoulder and took the keys from my hand. Calming myself down to an extent I could proudly say with ease, that all eyes were on us.

Priya and Sabine, who had just finished their presentation, gave us both looks before trying to hide their laughter.

My eyes shifted to Mrs. Mullins in the corner who was trying her best to death stare at us for interrupting.

I shrugged and mouthed "Sorry." before walking to the back of the classroom, not ignoring the obvious stares we got on the way.

We barely got to our seats before Mrs. Mullins called us back. "Oh no, if you two want to be late to my class you can gladly present now." she said sternly.

Her tone didn't scare me, but the thought of her giving me a bad grade did. Not that if she did, it would have an effect on my average, but I didn't like it either way.

Sighing, I turn on my heel and walk up to the front of the eerily quiet class. Ever since we walked in there's been a little tension—maybe due to the fact that we had a show stopping entrance.

My eyes darted around the room but landed on Priya who looked to be on the brink of laughter. Sabine wasn't helping, and looking at the two of them, I almost giggled myself.

I gained my composure once more as Mrs. Mullins cleared her throat in the corner.

I shot a look at Jackson, this was his cue to speak. "Go." I whispered, although it was probably just a meek breath.
