The burn Todoroki has is actually an ice burn from when his mom poured water on his face. She felt so guilty and regretted it so she tried to fix it by putting freezing cold ice on the burn.
Todoroki still has PTSD from tea kettles and hot water, so he prefers cold showers and he doesn't like tea, coffee, etc.
He flinched Anytime Bakugo yells because it reminds him of how his dad used to yell.
