On the bed, a girl with dark curly hair sat, staring out the window. She'd been there for years, wasting away. Her schizophrenia made it nearly impossible for her to function without 24/7 care, and her parents weren't up for that. Maybe her parents weren't even alive, they hadn't visited in so long.
Nurse Aafia knocked softly on the door to Jol Nwani's room before she opened the door.
