Mikey and Gerard strolled down the streets, shoulders pressed close together. Their mother didn't want them getting to close to the "robot-people," for fear that they'd get their senses turned off, too.
But the condition of these people interests Gerard, not so much Mikey. Mikey thinks they're weird, and he thinks they aren't to be trusted, just like his mother.
Ray and Frank took their mechanical steps along the sidewalk. They were in sync, just like every other person with their feelings switched off.
The government would pay good money to have good brains switched off to be used as mindless workers in their screwed-up industries.
In fact, that's how Ray and Frank got this way. Someone snatched them up off the streets and sold their minds to the people in charge.
But when their worlds collide, things will be changed for all four boys.
