Part Two - Magic & Memories (Loki x Reader)

Chapter One - The Return

     I wake up from my dream with a huge smile on my face. I jump out of bed and use the bathroom as quickly as I can. My mom comes in from Dagny's room already dressed up for the day. Dagny has her own room now since Lady Lofn moved to a room closer to Queen Frigga's rooms.

     "Sweetheart, what are you doing up so early? Did I wake you?" asks my mom.

     I grab a brush and shake my head. "No. A dream woke me up." I turn to look at my mom. "Loki is coming back today."

     Her eyebrows move up in surprise. "Are you sure? Maybe it was another one of your regular dreams, sweetheart."

     I brush out my hair as I answer. "It felt different than normal dreams. It was a vision. It was still a small one, but it definitely was a vision."

     She smiles at me. "Your lessons and practicing have helped your magic get stronger. You must be very proud of yourself, sweetheart. I know I am very proud of you."

     I finish brushing my hair and I smile at my mom. "Thank you, mom. I am proud of myself." I put the brush down. "Could you put my hair in a fancy braid after I put my dress on, please?"

     My mom nods. "Of course. Since the king and the two princes will be coming back today, the celebratory feast will be grand indeed."

     I thank her before going back into our room to put on the green dress that I received from Queen Frigga last year for Thor's birthday tournament. I'm only an inch taller than I was the last time I wore this on Loki's birthday. But, the extra fabric at the bottom of the skirt still had to be brought down and fixed. My mom comes in and helps me lace up the back of the dress before having me sit on the stool. She starts braiding my hair when Dagny walks into our shared bathroom and stops as she sees me.

     "Okay, what is happening? Is it an emergency? Some special breakfast food I don't know about?" asks Dagny. I giggle, my mom laughs, and Dagny smiles and shrugs. "You can't blame me for asking. You're rarely up this early."

     "I don't even sleep in that much later! Just an hour more. Or two at the most." I say.

     Dagny smirks. "I believe I remember you sleeping an extra three hours since you didn't have lessons the next day and you had stayed up late reading."

     I laugh. "I'd do it again. And probably will. And the reason I'm up this early today is because a vision came to me in my dreams. Loki is coming back today."

     Dagny's eyes get bigger. "Are they really coming back today?" I nod. "Perfect timing too since they won't miss tomorrow's Midsumarblót celebration."

     My mom finishes braiding my hair and goes to Queen Frigga's room to tell her about my vision. Dagny and I make our way down to have breakfast. Sif is already sitting at a table so we join her after we fill our plates with food.

     "What are you doing up so early and why are you not dressed for your lesson with me, little Valkyrie?" asks Sif.

     "Because Loki is coming back today. I had a vision that came to me in my dreams and that's what woke me up. There was no way I'd be able to go back to sleep after that so I got ready. Do you think there will still be a celebration since they're coming back today even though Midsumarblót is tomorrow?"

     Dagny nods and swallows before answering. "Most definitely. You know the menfolk can't miss an opportunity to throw a celebration or feast of some sort."

     Sif agrees. "Especially when there is plenty of mead to drink. Not that they do not partake in mead drinking in the absence of a celebration."

     Dagny and I giggle because Volstagg and Fandral both walk past right after Sif says that. Sif turns her head and sees them which makes her snort as she tries to stop from letting a laugh out as well since her mouth is filled with food.
