"Okay, so basically you two are in a real relationship now?!" Pa-histeryang tanong ni Angie nang ikwento ko sa kanya ang napagusapan namin ni Chase sa party ng lolo niya.

"Rebound relationship." Pagtatama ko.

She scoffed, "Wow. As if that made it sound better!" Sarkastikong sabi niya.

"You're my friend. You know how much I need this to forget." I sighed.

"At si Chase ang solusyon?!" Pahisterya niyang tanong.

I heard her laugh sarcastically on the other end of the line.

"So ang ibig mong sabihin... You're doing this relationship thing with Chase to forget about Enzo? Para makalimot ka na sa sakit? Ganon?"

I smiled, "Exactly."

"At si Chase ang unang pumasok sa isip mo?"

"He's the one who offered first. I just made a better deal out of it." Sagot ko.

"This is Chase Fortalejo we're talking about, Jas!" She sounded so frustrated. "Chase is a heartbreak waiting to happen! Para ka lang humanap ng batong ipupukpok sa ulo mo! Naghahanap ka lang ng panibagong sakit. Gaga ka!"

Kumunot ang noo ko, "I told you, napagusapan na namin 'yon. We promised not to—"

"—Fall in love with each other, I know." Patuloy niya sa dapat na sasabihin ko. "Naniniwala ka ba talagang kaya mo 'yon?"

"Wow. I'm offended."

"Let's face it, Jas. This is Chase. Name one person who hasn't fallen in love with him."

"Me." Sagot ko. "I haven't."

"Yet!" Dagdag niya.

Umirap ako. "Believe what you want to believe. I guess I'll just have to prove you wrong."

"Okay. Maghahanda na lang ako ng tissue na pamunas sa luha mo. And in the end, when you do get hurt, I'll be the one telling you, 'I told you so.'"

"Tss. Whatever. Bye, nandito na sundo ko."

"Sinong sundo naman?"

"My boyfriend." Sabi ko para lang asarin siya.

Madrama siyang suminghap, "Omg... I can't believe that's coming straight out of your mouth!"

"Ang OA mo. Sige na. Bye." Pinatay ko na agad ang tawag at hindi na hinintay pa ang sasabihin niya.

Kitchen.

Naroon nga si Chase at makapal ang mukhang nakiki-breakfast pa! At home na at home pa ang mokong na basta na lang kumukuha ng juice mula sa ref!

"Ang laking palamunin naman nito." Sabi ko at kumuha ng isang toasted bread na nasa plato niya.

"Araw araw kitang hatid sundo. Hindi na nga kita sinisingil sa gas, hindi mo pa ako pakakainin?"

Natawa ako, "Ang yaman yaman mo, hihingi ka pa ng pang-gas?!"

"Just eat so we can go." He said impatiently. "Make it fast. We can't be late. Kakausapin pa tayo ni Principal Crucis."

Kumunot ang noo ko.

"Huh? Bakit?" I asked, "May kalokohan ka nanaman bang ginawa at dinamay mo pa 'ko?" Pangaakusa ko na agad.
