Start from the beginning

"Make sure the elevator doors come on time, and please don't use that old wood," I order Spencer, the head contractor, as he nods his head approvingly.

"You guys are doing good; keep it up," I say, signing off the check list from this week's assignments.

The site is looking good, the structure and space in general are good, and walls are being built up with concrete and metal rods.

Clarke stands beside Bethany, one of my workers, as she explains to him a few new added details.

He's wearing a yellow helmet. His sleeves are pulled back as he checks the site and nods his head in agreement with what Beth is telling him.

Something about how he looks with the sunset hitting behind him and his slightly disheveled hair makes me feel kind of hot.

Not now; out of all the places, times, and people, he's the one making me feel this.

I need to get occupied with something fast.

"Ms. Ferrari" Richard stands beside me with a smirk.

"May I say you look dashing today?" I look him up and down and cross my arms, holding in my laughter.

"Thank you, Richard. What do you want?" He smiles, looking back to where Clarke is now staring at me.

And Beth was at Richard's.

"She's ignoring me, and I need you to help me!"

He gasps, looking back at me with pleading eyes.

"Well, what did you do now?" I ask, looking back as he stares at her with a warm smile.

I snap my fingers to get his attention.

"I might have mockingly told her I would sleep with her cousin." I punch him in the gut and hold his head up by his shirt collar.

"You are on your own with this! You did not only disrespect her but you told her you would fuck her cousin!" I whisper and yell as I look back at poor Beth, who smiles at me.

"She told me to do so!" He pleads, holding onto my arm.

Throwing him back, I flip my hair and breathe in.

Men.

"Go home, plan a dinner date, or do whatever she loves to do, and get down on your knees and plead for forgiveness; make a fool of yourself for god's sake!" I slap his head and walk back to Adonis.

"You good?" He asks, looking behind me at an overwhelmed Richard.

"Yeah, you asked for me." I get back to the point.

"About the windows, they won't be in today." I look at him, making sure that what he is saying is right.

"And when will they be in?" I ask, holding onto my clipboard quite hard.

"In three days," I loosened my grip on the clipboard and closed my eyes for a moment.

"Fine, just please monitor them and make sure nothing else gets delayed," he nods his head and walks away.
