"Ah!" A scream echoed across the battlefield. Kakashi rushed over and cracked the guy's skull resulting a crack, blood seeping around the now dead body on the ground surrounding the corpse.
Sakura stilled, frozen in fear. Legs that couldn't seem to hold her own weight, which had resulted into falling onto the dirt floor. She stared into dull eyes across the ground in front of her. Sakura couldn't—wouldn't— take her eyes off the body.
Bloodbloodbloodblood
Kunai clashing against one another throughout the field. Ignoring the noise Kakashi kneeled down, covered in crimson that looked dyed in his gray(almost white) hair.
"Maa, everything's alright Sakura-chan." Kakashi said as if nothing was happening, the screams of terror, red tainting the earth, and gave Sakura his infamous eye crinkle.
Scared, and terrified, Sakura unconsciously hugged her sensei tight. Sniffing, "Sensei...W-Where's Naruto and Sasuke-kun?" Her voice breaking out in a way that was not pleasant. Kakashi's arms tightened the embrace.
"Sakura! Kakashi-sensei!! We're done with the guys, dattebayo!" A familiar voice called out, he ran and spotted the two hugging.
While Sasuke walked with his indifferent expression, though he raised an eyebrow seeing the two, "shut up dobe. You're too loud."
"Am not!"
"Hn."
"I AM NOT LOUD" The blond screeched.
Sakura deadpanned, and she tried to get out of her sensei's tight grip. Kakashi didn't budge and instead focused on the two boys and Sakura could feel his amusement from the way his eyes crinkled.
Standing up Kakashi gently lifted Sakura up, she huffed trying to ignore how the world spinning in circles. Naruto bounced his way beside her checking if she had been hurt during the battle.
Sasuke doing the same but in a more discreet manner. He gave his casual Hn and started to walk in the path leading up to the village of Konoha.
Naruto grabbed Sakura's hand and dragged their way towards Kakashi and Sasuke, "W-Wait up guys!" Naruto yelled trying to look offended.
Sakura chuckled and smiled at him.
'I barely did anything back there. How could they treat me with such kindness? Kindness I don't deserve.'
With a quiet sigh escaping her mouth she focused onto the bickering of her two teammates.
She vowed to get stronger. She wants to get better and to instead be the one to protect then to be protected.
