Before Jennie came into her life, Lisa had a very long list of things that she had come to hate. At the top of that list used to be this: waking up in the morning.

The night after they confessed to each other, Lisa opened her eyes, her heart eager to see what color the sunrise was on their first day as a couple. The radio clock on her car says 5:08 am. She looked out through the windshield and saw that the sun hasn't risen yet.

They have parked at a gasoline
station stopover in the middle of the highway after their brief detour at Everland the night before. They have talked and talked and kissed and kissed until they fell asleep in each other's arms in the backseat of her car at sometime around 1 am.

She held Jennie tighter and closer to her, inhaling her scent and kissing her shoulders.

"My girlfriend." she called out to her in a whisper, careful not to disrupt her sleep.

Jennie hugged her back, still very
much asleep, burying her head in her chest.

"I love you Lisa," she slept-talk
adorably.

Lisa momentarily forgot how to
breathe, her smile so wide it almost
split her face in half.

When Jennie finally woke up, she
kissed the tip of her nose.

"Let's sleep more?" she asked, looking into her eyes.

"How can i sleep if your heartbeat is too loud?" she told her in a
mock-pout.

"It's so inlove with you. It's always call your name." she grinned.

"LISA WE ARE TOO SAPPY OH MY GOD WE SHOULD STOP" she laughed.

"Sappy and Happy, Jennie."

They kissed. Lisa thought: I want to do this forever.

"It's so cold," Jennie shivered

"You want me to turn off the aircon?"

"No. I want...my jacket"

"You weren't wearing any jacket
yesterday, Jennie"

Jennie grabbed Lisa's arms and
wrapped her arms around her. Her
body fits perfectly into hers.

"Your arms..is going to be my favorite jacket from now on, Lisa,"

She kissed the top of her head,
hugging her even tighter, her heart
overflowing with so much love for
this girl who makes her so happy.

"Wear me whenever you want"

"Ah, you're so warm"

"Because you're so hot"

"LISA CAN YOU PLEASE JUST LET ME ENJOY THIS ROMANTIC MOMENT I SWEAR I"

"I'm sorry, Jennie. I just...I'm so attracted to you, okay?"

"Why? you think you're the only one? I have a crush on you too, Lisa"

"Oh, really?"

"And now, you're my girlfriend.

Like teenagers, they tickled each
other: discovering their most fragile places, trying to hush down their screams, touching and touching and breaking all walls, laughing like they're picking up all the lost fragments of their childhood to become whole even for just a while.

When Lisa looked out again, she saw that the sun was already breaking out from behind the clouds. A bright orange sunrise. The color of beginnings.

"You know, I used to hate this time of the day the most," she confessed.

"Mornings?" Jennie looked up at her.

"Yeah. I hated waking up. Nothing
worth looking forward to. I always
felt so empty,"

Jennie kissed her cheek to cheer her up.

"But me, I hated sunsets."

"Why?"

"Because..for the last couple of years, that meant, another day has
ended, and I used to dread going
home...when I still lived with my
parents before I moved out last
month. You know? I spend the
whole day running like crazy trying
to organize other people's weddings. And then at the end of the day, I come home to a quiet house..to the broken marriage of my parents. I used to keep a journal where I write everyday about my anger, my pain. I felt like a pathetic pretender. Like I'm lying to everyone selling this concept of
forever. Like I'm lying to myself,"

"And yet you decide not to let their
failure define you. You are different, Jennie."

"I guess it was easier for me because my dad only left us by choice. I don't know how you dealt with the kind of loss you suffered, Lisa: where your sister was taken out of your life beyond your control."

"Whether it was by choice or by fate, the way a person leaves us would always break our hearts one way or another. Everything is difficult, Jennie."

"I think that's why, I thought: if I'm going to be stubborn anyway, might as well be stubborn for a positive reason, right? So I lived by that principle: to always begin. No matter what."

"I like that. I like the way your mind works,"

"Will you promise me that, Lisa?"
Lisa looked into Jennie's eyes, and knew in her heart that she would promise her anything. Everything.

"Let's always begin, no matter what."

"Eternal beginnings. Yes."

They kissed harder this time, as the
sunlight seeped through the tinted
windows of the car, scattering and
hovering across their vision.

"We're in a relationship. I can't
believe it. I'm already in a relationship with you," she
laughed when their lips parted.

"That sounds so wrong," Jennie
exploded in a fit of giggles.

"Oh but it feels so right. And so damn good, too. I like sleeping with you"

"LISA YOU ARE ALREADY MY GIRLFRIEND WHY ARE
YOU STILL FLIRTING WITH ME?"

"Jennie, haven't I told you? I plan to
flirt with you forever,"

"Then I would say yes to you
everyday for the rest of my life, too."

Outside, the traffic was already
starting to build up as cars and people and the rest of the world continued to turn and resume the daily grind of the ordinary life.

Inside Lisa's car, time seemed to remain on a standstill as they continued to hold on to each other.

"Lisa, how did you guess the color of my underwear that night?"

"I didn't take advantage of you,
Jennie. I didn't peek on you, okay?
I respect you, let me just make that
clear. I'm pretty straightforward
about my desires but I will always
respect you,"

"I'm sure you haven't taken a peek at me, Lisa. I know you'll never do that," she smiled.

"I used my instinct, just like you
told me. So, my diagnosis is correct,
right?"

"You're actually only 50% correct"

"Huh? It wasn't yellow?"

"It's yellow...but it wasn't cotton.."

Lisa stared hard at Jennie, her center clenched with her lust again as the blush on her cheeks intensified at her confession.

"I was wearing yellow silk and lace
lingerie that night, love."
