Carefully I took the paper my dad was holding up. It was a letter. I looked at my brothers and then at my dad again. I didn't think I wanted to know what got him in this kind of mood.

Reading over the letter I let out a low sigh of relief.

"When were you planning on telling us, uh?" My dad ripped the letter out of my hands. I yelped at the familiar pain of a paper cut. Luckily no one seemed to notice.

I sat straight "Dad I can-"

"Explain? Yeah I sure hope you can. Hiding things behind mine and you're mother's backs like that. You need a damn good excuse." That was a little to harsh if you ask me, I didn't mean to hide anything.
Well I did, but I knew they would figure it out some time soon, just hoped I could be the one to tell them.

"What's happening? What was she hiding?" Hunter butted in.

"It's none of your business." I spat. I could've been more polite, but that wasn't what I wanted to be now.

"Nova." My dad warned. My mom had now come over to the couch I was sitting on. She held a resting hand on my thighs.

"When were you going to tell us?" Her patient and calming nature showing.

"Soon, I promise. It's just that you weren't supposed to open that letter. I would have read it and told you if it was positive, and just forgotten it if it was negative. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have kept it a secret." I told my mom truthfully.

"You know that this is a big change right? For all of us. A big responsibility I'm not sure you're old enough for." My dad added. I just nodded. He had calmed down from being mad now.

"Is this what you really want?" Mom asked. I could tell why she looked so sad now. This must have come as a big shock for her and dad.

"I am not sure yet. I still have a few weeks to decide, right?" Mom and dad looked at each other than at me.

"We" Dad gestured towards himself and mom. "Don't want you to do it. It is a big challenge, we would know. And since you're still under the age of eighteen and under our care we will have the last word in this." He concluded. And at that moment I saw where Hunter got all his asshole trades from.

"That's not fair! It's my life. You can't decide what I am going to do with it!" I yelled. I was now standing. Dad stood up as well.

"You're sixteen, Nova. You might think you're ready and mature enough. But the fact that you are standing here yelling instead of talking shows that you're still a child, not ready for the responsibility that letter is supporting." He was still collected. Talking to me like I was a child throwing a tantrum.

"What the hell is going on, the fact that you guys are talking about positive and negative results and responsibilities out of this world is really giving me bad vibes." Hunter tried once again to get in on what was happening.

"Nova?" My soft spoken brother Phoenix got my attention. He looked conflicted, but tried to hide it. "Are you-" Tears showed them self in his eyes. He had to swallow the seemingly growing lump in his throat.

Caelum seeing that it was hard for his younger brother to speak, spoke up for him in just the same tone as him. "Nova. Are you pregnant?"

I looked at him dead in the eyes.

Then I simply laughed.

"I hope not." My dad snorted beside me. Whose the immature one again?

"If she is not pregnant, then what is all this about? What is she to immature to handle?" Caelum asked, a little hurt that I just laughed away what he had said.

"She wants to move to England." Mom said as she gave the letter to my brothers for them to read.

"You already applied? Without mom and dad knowing?" Phoenix asked. I just shrugged.

"Yes she did. She knew what we thought about it, and applied behind our backs." Dad explained. He was clearly disappointed in my dishonesty towards them.

"I have to say it baby princess, didn't know you had it in you to do something you knew daddy and mommy won't approve of." Hunter teased, earning a chuckle from my two other brothers and a stern look from mom and dad. He didn't mind tho. He got me riled up, that's what he cares about.

"Senior year at a boarding school in England? Margate? That's two hours away from London. Why can't you just finish your last year here?" Caelum didn't seem impressed. "Teenagers usually shivers at the idea of being sent to a boarding school far away." He added. His brows furrowed. The atmosphere in the room was damper. Everyone seemed to be thinking about the same thing.

"Why do you want to move away?" Phoenix asked looking at his baby sister.

He could have sworn that it was just yesterday her hair was in messy braids with two small bows keeping them together. Chubby, rosy cheeks that everyone loved to squeeze. Small, sticky hands that never seemed to get less sticky no matter how much she washed them. A pink tutu she never took of. She was a ballerina.

Not anymore. Now her blond hair hung loose over her shoulders, small curls forming. The rosy cheeks where replaced with a small tint of blush on her high cheekbones, the chubby ones forgotten. Her fingers not so small anymore. They were womanly. With beautiful acrylic adorning them. The tutu was gone. It was now a stylish and complete fit. No longer a ballerina.

"I want to get away. And it's only for a year, then I'll come back. Plus I will be back every vacation we get. This is a chance I only get once." Nova looked at her parents expectantly.

"Nova. Your still too young. I don't feel comfortable with you being 24 hours away from me." Leana explained to her daughter.

"It's so unfair! Everyone else has moved out. And Vulcan was only a couple of months older then what I am now when he moved to Italy alone, and he hasn't even been home in twelve years!" Nova was eagrivaded.

"That was a complete different situation that you have no right to talk about." Leana doesn't snap often but now she did. Her face was red and finger was pointing at poor confused Nova.

What on earth was that about?

"Sorry, I shouldn't have said that. It's just... I know now that allowing a seventeen and eighteen-year-old move to a whole different country isn't okay at all. And I am sure that I am not going to allow my sixteen-year-old to do the same. It's nothing else to discuss. I have made up my mind." She said before taking Nova in for a hug.

A hug so comfortable that Nova had now problem allowing herself to get swallowed in her moms embrace.

Maybe she would just forget about the whole boarding school thing. She could always study psychology abroad in a few years. Then she would be able to decide what to do for her self. No overprotective brother or parents in her way.

She was still curious to what had gotten her mother to react the way she did tho. Her mother never snaps.
