Kiana woke up to yelling coming from downstairs. She looked at her Apple Watch and saw it was only 2:30am. She remembered falling asleep on the couch so she figured Deontae probably brought her upstairs.
She walked into the bathroom and splashed some water on her face before walking downstairs.
She looked and noticed an older woman, Darcie and Deontae yelling.
"She's a hoe what do you expect"
"I'm not aborting my baby"
"You ain't staying in my sons house wit no baby Darcie"
Kiana cleared her throat making herself be seen
"Who is this bitch , don't tell me you got somebody pregnant too"
"Uhm huh? I'm just his friend" Kiana told the mom not trying to be rude
"Ma this Kiana , Kiana this my mom" Deontae pulled her closer to him which made the mom mug him
"Listen , you can't tell her what she can and can't do in my house. It's her body ma , she can't have an abortion it's against the law. And Darcie you way too young to be fucking but I'll talk to you privately about that" Deontae said showing his mother to the door
"You okay?" Kiana asked Darcie as she sat on the couch crying
"Yeah I'm fine thank you" she smiled. Kiana didn't know what to do but hug her in a moment like this. She pulled Darcie and hugged her , telling her it's okay.
Darcie sobbed on Kiana's shoulder and Deontae just stood at the doorway watching. He didn't know every time Darcie went over to her dads house that she was really going to her boyfriends house. He feels like he failed as an older brother
"I think we should all get some sleep, it's 2 in the morning and we all have to be at school by 9"Kiana said looking at Deontae.
Darcie walked to her room, went under the covers and begin crying
"You okay?"kiana asked him making him nod his head
She pulled him into a hug and felt how tense his body was "Deontae she's gonna make mistakes. She's a young girl , she's gonna learn from them" Kiana tells him making him sigh and hug her back
"I know mama , but I feel like I didn't do what I was supposed to , I feel like I didn't protect her like I was supposed to. She's only 14 she doesn't know how to care for a baby"
"Yeah but , you do. Help her deon. She's gonna need you especially seeing how you mother reacted"
He agreed wit her and walked her to the guest room. "I'll see you in the morning? Get some sleep luv" he said kissing her on her forehead
"Goodnight Deontae" she said walking to the bed , getting under the covers letting her thoughts and sleep take over her.
Deontae walked to his room , and went to sleep.
....
Kiana woke up at 6:30 the earliest she ever woke up and walked to Deontae's room.
She turned on his light making him quickly open his eyes
"Mama , what you want?"
"I'm bored , and I can't sleep" she said climbing on his bed
She layed her head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat
"You talked to your brother yet?"he asked making her shake her head no
