"Amidala, you could at least knock."
She smiled at her father's familiar booming voice. She couldn't believe how stressed both her fathers were. Honestly, they were acting like a bunch of teenagers. She could not wait till this day was over.
"I would have knocked if the ceremony wasn't about to start in less than ten minutes. Papa is freaking out and I can't calm him down."
Amidala felt Leia come beside her, setting her hand on her shoulder.
" She's right Ben. You have always been one to be late. Let's try not to be late to your own ceremony............ Too much of your father in you. You know that he showed up an hour late to our ceremony. Sure, he ran into a Gauvain Death Gang but-"
"Yes mom, you told me the story thousands of times. We won't be late........Amidala you look beautiful, I didn't think you would actually wear it."
She rolled her eyes at her father's comment. She definitely wouldn't mention how she was 'forced' to wear it. She felt him straighten her hair, pushing it back behind her ear. It must have gotten messed up when she fell.
"You do look amazing, now come on. Are you ready?"
"Ready? I should be asking you that. I'm not the one becoming bonded through the Force."
Kylo laughed, taking her in his arms and picking her up. She was still tiny compared to most girls her age, but she was fifteen. Kylo always carried her whenever he got the chance, always saying something stupid about her being his little girl. She secretly loved it.
"Yes, you two should get going. Maker knows my son in-law will barge in here any minute and demand an explanation."
Amidala heard her father sigh unapologetically. Even after all these years Leia was still getting used to the thought of Hux as family. He practically felt the same way about her. Insults would be thrown and slight jabs at moral judgment, but nothing too inappropriate to separate them.
"Ok, let's go."
Amidala walked down the aisle with Kylo, which she detested at first, but then smiled at the idea of getting to show off her dress. Kylo seemed to be very passionate about the idea, so she didn't complain too much.
She had stood on Hux's side by herself while Leia, Rey, Chewbacca, R2D2, and C-3PO stood on Kylo's side. They said what they wished of each other, which was just a rehash of what they always say to each other. They kissed, and Amidala could help herself from turning away. She could feel their love and bond through the Force, it was sweet, but also terribly uncomfortable. She just wanted to get onto the cake.
People finally clapped, the entire crowd cheering for them. She knew how important this was to them and to Leia. They had been a family for so long, but something was different now. She didn't feel any fear of being separated from them. Her fathers were connected through the Force and nothing in the Galaxy could change that.
Amidala stood in the corner of the large reception room. She was currently more focused on the amazing cake she was eating then being out on the floor. She had listened to Leia give a toast, too sappy in her opinion, and then they had danced. It was their favorite song. Some old Arkanis song Amidala had only heard it a few times in her life. They were happy, and she would not stop them. There were other things she needed to focus on.
She had been currently thinking about what she would say to them. How would they take it? A couple of years ago she would have never wanted to leave their side. She had learned and experienced so much of the galaxy. She had helped many people as well. She felt as if she needed a new path. She was fifteen, not the little nine-year-old girl who wanted to take on the galaxy.
