In fact, the Museum was already closed, perfect for exploring it without annoying mundanes, supposing that the box was there, of course.
-What are we supposed to do now? -Jace raised his eyebrows, watching the place. While it took Harry's breath away, the blond one could only think of how boring it was. He definitely preferred hunting demons.
-My friend told me that he created a special entrance... Only for the ones coming from the Shadow World... It should guide us directly to the music box... -Ten's voice sounded so distant, so lost while her enormous silver eyes stared at the building, her hands on her chest, pressing it as if she could stop her heart from pounding so heart. -If this is the Museum, the entrance should be close...
-It was made with magic, Harry and I should be able to detect it.
Magnus need to say a word more, Harry understood what he mean and both, squatted down at the same time, their hands directly touching the cold and ground.
Then, their eyes closed, blue and green sparks creating bright networks under their foot.
Everyone looked at them cautiously, watched the scene kind of curious. Magic was something so mysterious, so hard to understand but so helpful and precious, ineffable and hard to explain.
-Is here... -Both Magnus and Harry said that at the same time, while standing up.
Separate, they were powerful, but together invencible, as twins, just like Matt and Alec, complemented each other, needed no plan, they had clear what the other would do.
-The magic trace is strong, something big is hiding. -Magnus pointed at the floor. -Right under us.
-Under? -Clary's curious eyes watched the ground, moved her foot as if the place could shatter.
-Yes, biscuit. I hope you're good at digging.
And every stare was on Magnus, who rolled his eyes. Those kids didn't have sense of humor?
Or maybe they didn't have an idea when Magnus was kidding or not.
-It was a joke.
After that, he moved one finger, indicating them to follow him.
London had no secrets for him, maybe that museum, but Magnus was stubburn enough to solve the mistery. Even if his intrusive thoughts annoyed him, he wasn't willing to let his mind win.
-All right?
But then, the one behind those thoughts, walked right next to him, his hair even messier due to the cold breeze.
-Considering that we're about to play with magic, sure. -In fact, that was the least of Magnus' problems, he loved challenging magic.
-Yeah... -Not knowing what will they encounter, meant no plan, and Alec wasn't quite ready for that. -But we must stick together.
-Do you really think I'm letting you go?
A cat facing directly the ocean of those eyes, both sharing smiles. Alec didn't like much that Ten called him a hot boy, but when Magnus flirted like that, it made him feel different, special.
Magnus had a way of looking, of speaking that always accelerated Alec's heart.
Unfortunately, they had little time to talk, since they were now right in front of the gates of the museum.
No one was around, but the security guards were paying close attention to their surroundings.
The Shadowhunters were glamoured, except Harry, Ten and Magnus.
-Try to be curious tourists... -Muttered Ten.
Before Harry and Magnus could reply, the girl was already brightly smiling and grabbing the golden bars of the gate. Her experience during her troubles, prepared her for that moment.
