Start from the beginning

-Oh, don't misunderstand me, I'm not into this thing of love or hookups.

-Do you think we care? -Jace raised his eyebrows, while leaning against the wall.

-I do... -Simon raised his hand quite shy, regretting it as soon as he noticed Jace's deadly stare.
If Ten and he were friends, or at least got on well, he wanted to make her feel as part of the group.

-Magnus... -Harry showed Magnus his mobile phone and the time on it.

The warlock nodded and snapped his fingers, moved his hands in a hypnotizing way and soon, blue and red sparks formed a colorful portal that illuminated the entire alley.
A potentially sure discussion between Ten and Jace was avoided thanks to that.
No one was expecting Isabelle and Clary to appear from the shiny portal, ready with their weapons, warrior and precious angels, beautiful and fierce.

Simon freezed, stayed petrified as a statue, as the first time he saw Isabelle coming out of the Institute with that powerful way of walking, her black hair rocking with the breeze, an alluring smile.
His feelings towards her hadn't changed a bit since then.
Besides, his Parabatai rune screamed in excitement as it noticed Clary's twin one so close.
That overwhelming mix of feelings didn't let Simon to react, not even when Isabelle approached and her black eyes stared directly at his.

-Simon... -Her voice sounded like one coming directly from heaven dragging him out of hell. -Hi...

-Hi... -It was all he could muttered and almost choked with his words.

Clary wanted so bad to hug her Parabatai, to tell him everything was going to be alright, that they were together. Before the rune, she used to miss Simon, but now, it almost ached to be parted.
Yet, she had felt his pain, his concernes for not being able to talk to Isabelle, so the red-haired girl contained herlself and stayed next to Jace.
He should be worried for her being there, but he couldn't lie, it was what he needed.

-I'm sorry... -If someone as proud as Isabelle was saying that, she must be truly regretting what happened. -I'm sorry Simon... I was... So worried that... I took everything out on you and you didn't diserve it... -Her troubled eyes searching for his, her heart beating faster.

Sometimes, being brave wasn't just fighting, but opening your heart, and that was the true challenge for Isabelle.
Nevertheless, Simon needed no more, he instantly shook his head and took her hands.
Even if Isabelle didn't love him, even if she didn't show what she felt, Simon would never ask for something in return, he would always love her as a Shadowhunter did: Passionately, for eternity.

-No... I should have listened to you and maybe think a bit more the situation and...

-Do not blame yourself... -Her hands got rid of Simon's and started to caress his arms. -As you said, even if I don't trust Ten, I should trust you...

Simon's heart was both sensitive and kind, full of endless affection, he didn't need Isabelle to apologize, it was enough with her love, with her presence.

-I love you, Simon... -Her hands cupped his face, starting to caress his cheeks while Simon took her by the waist. Despite his hands shaking a bit, feeling her felt better than an iratze. She was his true healing rune.

-I know.

Both chuckled, once again their eyes glittering, their smiles helplessly coming back to their faces.
If they had to risk their lifes on a mission, at least they wanted to do it together, but before that, they took a moment to share a brief, but soft kiss.

-So... I guess we don't have time for a romantic dinner here in London?

-I'm afraid not... -Simon, already blushing, giggled. How much he would love that plan.
