-Now, please, confirm my theory... -Again, he looked at Harry. -Are you in love with Matthew? Is he in love with you?

-Of course we are in love! -Quickly, Harry approached Magnus, grabbing his shoulders. -Magnus... I took his hand... I felt everything he felt...

That look in his shiny eyes, the high expectations, emotion and excitement was hard to overlook.
In that sense, Harry was so naive, or maybe Magnus too used to deceptions.
He clearly had more experience, and hated the fact that his little twin had to live the same as him. The only spark of hope was the possibility that Matt wouldn't break his heart.

Somehow, Magnus could expect that to happen, could expect that his twin and Matt would eventually fall in love, yet, he still was a concerned big brother.
Besides, he himself knew how the hazel-eyed boy was like in a relationship; too impatience, too reckless, too willing to love in such a passionate way that could be overwhelming. Would his twin's calm, sweetness and loving character balance Matt's? Only time could tell.

-I would say that I'm happy for you but that would be a very common lie. Instead, I'm gonna give you some good advice... -Then, Magnus started to think about his decisions regarding love, about all those times he almost hugged a cactus. -Forget it, you'll be alright.

And Harry gave him a tender smile, not hesitating to hug Magnus as tight as he could. His hugs were always like that: warm, reassuring, the ones that could join shattered pieces.

-I know it can be awkward because Matt and you were together but...

-Not at all. -Interrumpted Magnus. -That's not the reason, we both moved on, we are friends... It's just that love is a double edged sword...

-But the beautiful moments are worth the pain, right?

They parted, stared at each other as someone would stare at his own reflection. Too similar and yet too different, the light and the dark, the sun and the moon.
What should Magnus answer to that question? He felt it as a tricky one.
Would he sacrify his well-being, endless night cocktails, travels and ostentatious parties for something as unsure as love?
Could his wandering soul stand that?

-Let's get ready, alright? -He smiled at his brother, pinched his cheek.

Harry, still with that grin on his face, nodded and got out of Magnus' room in less than a second.
When he was alone again, consumed by his annoying thoughts and doubts, the warlock looked at his bed, a total mess, blankets everywhere, so, taking a deep breath, he snapped his fingers in order to leave the bed perfectly made.
But that was just an excuse to his true intentions.

He watched his red sparks highlighted by blue ones, almost adquiring importance over the others.
Maybe, he had an answer to his questions.

...

At evening, just like they planned, they portaled in the city center, at an alley so anyone could see them.
Luckily, cold and foggy nights prevented people from wandering during long hours.

-Okay, so now we can head to the museum, right? -Ten placed a strand of silver hair behind her ear, as she watched everyone.
Her mind was already spinning with thoughts about the box, about holding again her precious metallic object and tracing the swirling patterns with her fingers.

-We have to wait a bit, patience, dear.

But that was asking too much and Magnus knew, the girl couldn't hide her bothered expression.

-Alright, at least I am sandwiched by two hot guys.

In fact, the alley was too narrow and Ten could barely move between Alec and Matt, who looked at each other.
The hazel-eyed boy smiling with satisfaction, the blue-eyed one already blushing and pretending he was checking his arrows.
Their expressions confused the faerie, since she wasn't flirting or trying to, she was just being honest.
