As I walked through my hand-made portal, the blood on my clothes was sucked back into the portal, leaving me clean and dry. Huh. Interesting. I wonder what else I can do with my glitched powers? Maybe there are ways to... control them?
Just as the thought faded from my mind, a floating, curved, white keypad appeared before my eyes. It extended around me in a circle and it was translucent, like a hologram.
"Object com-mands? U-ser com-mands? What is this?-" I read aloud the name of the buttons on the screen. Whatever, I'll select one and see what happens... hopefully the earth doesn't blow up or something...
Facing towards a tree, I pressed the option copy and paste.
A scratchy noise filled the area and I looked up. Layer by layer, a tree formed into existence as if it was being 3D-printed. Within a few seconds, the whole tree had been created.
I played around with the commands for... let's just say quite a while. As it turned out, I could spawn any item from my system, as long as I had downloaded the object's 3D structure and material. At this point, I had the 3D structure for trees and I had made a circle of them around me within thirty minutes. A cat walked past my 'forest' in awe and I decided to scan the cat's 3D structure.
Sadly, it didn't work and the only results I got were increased lag in my control systems as if the system had broken down by the thought of cloning a measly cat.
Then again, it was a living thing with a mind of its own. You can't play with life.
A loud choppy noise - a familiar sound - prickled the back of my brain and I turned around swiftly. It was a horrifying but surreal sight.
A saturated rainbow-coloured substance took shape and molded into a humanoid form, that of a young boy. Cuts and bruises crowded his body although there was one scar that stood out the most on his stomach.
He stood there in silence, hunched over. After a moment of silence, he finally jerked to life and charged at me with glitchy claws poking out of his knuckles, his eye glitching madly.
I quickly tensed up and dodged the attack, barely inches away from getting my eye gouged out. He slid past and quickly stood up, charging up his next attack.
Oh wait, why was I dodging? I could just spawn multiple trees to block him off! Feeling dumb, I raised my hands yelled the words "controls" The keypad appeared and I ran away from him as fast as I could and spawned a tree. Unfortunately, he was able to catch up to me and the only thing that could possibly protect me was the hastily-spawned tree between us.
He crashed into the tree with a big impact that weakened him, reforming himself into his gooey glitched form. With what little energy he had, he slithered towards me with lightning speed and crashed into me. As the goo slithered up my arms and neck, I struggled and tried to pull it off but it all felt useless.
It felt as if my arms didn't exist as I pushed the goo away.
Well, if I was even pushing it away in the first place.
I continued to struggle, fighting against the surprising coolness of the glitch substance. Suddenly, I became extremely lethargic, my vision getting blurry with every second.
Time was ticking.
I had to get away. The glitch was already almost covering my entire face.
I would suffocate if I didn't escape.
I would die.
I need to escape. I need to escape. Ineedtoescape. INEEDTOESCAPE. I struggled violently, still hoping for that chance of survival.
Exhaustion settled in and my attempts were more futile than ever.
Just as I thought the goo would suffocate me, it put me to sleep.
It might be my longest.
