The week after translating runes with Peter, Lorelei couldn't shake the translation.

She had hoped her class would reveal more, but after submitting the homework Professor Babbling ran right into a seperate topic.

So bothered by the message, she even asked Professor Babbling after class about the homework and got the unhelpful response of, "It was written in the same year Hogwarts was founded and Dumbledore requires I teach it to the seventh years."

And asking professor Babbling who wrote the passage was not fruitful - a shrug was the glamorous response of her teacher.

With little else to do but obsess over the message like a rock in her shoe, Lorelei turned to the book she'd long since shoved into her trunk.

It was a long shot, but considering the passage was from the year Hogwarts was founded and Slytherins Diary was written around the same time, she had to at least try.

Pulling open to the first page, Lorelei was happy to note that each entry included a date for reference.

Slytherins diary was organized chaos. The book held no more content than an exact replica of what his diary would have looked like.

On one hand it was a fascinating read.

On the other, she wished there was a bit of context behind what she was reading.

Undeterred by the challenge she skimmed the entries, using her quill to annotate interesting spells, potions, and other advice.

Eventually she found the first passage dated in the year nine hundred ninety three. The year Hogwarts was founded.

April second, nine hundred ninety three A.D.

Gryffindor continues to suspect my dealings with Bralren, I fear I will be turned against in the coming years. Ravenclaw continues to hold her icy composure toward me, despite her insistent kindness toward Hufflepuff. The castle is nearly finished, with only the high tower left.

Spring continues as I work with Bralren, her health continues to decline. She believes she's hiding her condition from me, but I've heard the slippery whisperings from the goblins guarding her cave. She's dying, along with her knowledge on blood magic.

I have slowly begun to transcribe my learnings onto a page seperate from this book - out of fear everything will be lost if Gryffindor discovers this transcript.

I have nearly completed my course work for the students sorted into Slytherin, magic pertaining to blood will be precise in those with pureblood - as all Slytherins will be.

I am particularly intrigued to see how Slytherin students will exel in comparison to the weaker founders houses.

Bralren has begun to consort with another wizard, I am certain. She is becoming more distant with me, teaching me more slowly than in times past. No matter, I will simply find and destroy whoever is hoarding her knowledge.
