"where are my two lovers?" nora ephron asked as she stood in the room they were filming in. adria waddled over to nora with a donut in her hand and a wide grin on her face while joseph followed behind her with his arms crossed over his chest and a frown.
nora sighed, "adria, babe, stop stealing joe's donuts, we talked about this." she said as she gently rubbed adrias arm. adria furrowed her eyebrows, "this is my donut, jojo is just sad because he dropped his." adria informed as she rubbed joe's back comfortingly.
"thank you for your sympathy, adria." he sadly says as he looks over at her and lays his head on hers. adria tears the donut in half, popping her half in her mouth as she offers the other half of her donut to joseph and he smiles before taking the donut before eating it with a smile on his face.
he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, "are you that in love with me that you'd give me half of your food?" he asked and adria rolled her eyes, pushing him away from her, "no, i just got tired of seeing that pathetic frown, joseph." she fired back.
nora pinched the bridge of her nose and let a small laugh out, "god, i need to tell them to give the casting directors a raise because you and joe are literally mia and elijah." she mumbled before clapping her hands and pointing to the set.
"this is the scene, guys." nora informs, causing joe and adria to look at each other and then back to nora with nervous smiles. joseph looks at nora and scratched the back of his neck, "the scene as in-" he was cut off by nora nodding her head, "yep, the sex scene, we film it in about 2 hours because right now we're filming the scene with mia's parents so, go prepare for the scene." she finishes and adria grew nervous.
both joseph and adria were aware the scene was there but they still were very anxious about it. especially since adria would have to be topless in the scene and joseph would have to kiss down her half naked body.
adria smiled, nodding her head before looking at joseph, "let's sell the fuck out of us fucking." she cheered, then turned around and walked away from the two, letting a deep sigh come from her mouth.
joseph felt his cheeks grow hot as fiddled with his fingers behind his back, he was about to see adria topless for the first time and he was definitely nervous about it because something in him grew attached to her.
he could tell she was nervous so he thought it would be a good idea to try to make her feel comfortable and break the ice. he made his way to adria's trailer and softly knocked on her door. it was a minute before she opened the door slightly, "joe, can i help you?" she asked
"can i, um, can i come in?" he asked and she nodded her head, stepping to the side and fully opening her door to let him in. he steps in and she closes the door behind him, crossing her arms over her chest, "what can i do for you?" she asked
he stuffed his hands in his pockets and looked down at his feet, "i know you're nervous about the scene and i wanted to come and reassure you that there's nothing to worry about, i want you to feel comfortable with me during this scene." he told her and she nodded her head.
"joe?" she calls to him and he looks up at her, "yes?" he responded and she locked the trailer door. she walks up to him and swayed back and forth on her feet, "can we rehearse the scene?" she asked and he hesitated before nodding his head, "oh, um, yeah of course." he replied as he walked over to her couch and sat down. they both get into character and be an rehearsing the scene.
"that wasn't the fucking point, mia!" he shouted as he stood up from the couch and paced around the room. she shook her head, "well what was i supposed to think? you don't talk to me for days on end and then you just come back into my life and expect me to still be at your hand and foot? fuck that! i'm not just some fucking puppet that you can control!" she shouted back as she stood up from the couch and stormed over to him.
"that's not fucking fair, mia, and you know it. you were the one who dangled me by a thread so don't you dare fucking turn it on me." he argued and she scoffed.
"well i'm so sorry that i'm not the girl you wan-" she was cut off by him slamming his lips on hers, hungrily kissing her. they melted into the kiss as she tugged at his curls before pulling away from the heated kiss, resting her forehead against his. she felt as if she couldn't remember what her next line was. this was their first kiss..
his thumb traced her swollen lips and she pressed a kiss on his lips once more before grabbing his hand and tracing it down her cleavage, he gulps and let's her guide him.
his fingers reach the belt of the robe and he slowly pulls on it, watching as the robe opens and reveals her bra. she shrugs the robe off and he bites his lip and snakes his arm around her waist, pulling him closer to her. she pulls him back in for a kiss and he backs them into the couch, pulling her on his lap as he does so. his hand tangles in her hair as his other hand reaches behind and undoes her bra before pulling it off of her.
it didn't take long for them to realize that they were definitely not going by the script anymore, that being said, they continued on.
