Emil Steilsson was what you'd call an introvert. He didn't really care with mingling and trying to find friends.

What would he do when he made some? Go out and party? Having to worry over other people's issues? No thanks. He had enough going on.

Being surrounded by five other guys and all but one being adults made his life hell.

Okay so not really hell, his family was really caring and he loved them a lot. Sometimes they were just a little bit too much.

Emil sighed as he brushed a hand through his wispy hair as he sat in the back seat of Tino's car next to Peter. Tino worked as a teacher at his school and on his way to work he'd drop Peter off at his own school where one of his friends worked and would watch over him until school started up. (Teachers often flocked together he guessed)

Unfortunately for Emil that meant Tino giving him rides to school and being there ridiculously early. He could just ride the bus but Emil didn't want to deal with a bunch of rowdy teens in an enclosed space so he dealt with the early morning routine.

"Thanks Tino," He said after the drop off of Peter and now their arrival at their own school.

Tino flashed him a warm smile and he nodded, "not a problem! I'm sorry you're always here like a half hour early," his eyes shined a bit with guilt.

Emil quickly shook his head, "no it's fine, it gives me time to finish up some extra assignments or to study," he assured. He never wanted to make Tino feel bad. The man was a saint.

"Well if you're sure!"

Emil made his way through the empty halls- save for the occasional teacher dipping their heads as a greeting to him before they went into their classrooms- and ended up at his own.

Mr. Edelstein was always on time, never early nor late, that was because he spent his time in the teacher's lounge prior to classes and then heading up a minute til bell.

The Icelandic teen opened the classroom door and immediately his face dropped into a frown, "oh it's you."

Leon was sitting at his desk with his feet kicked up onto the surface. He was playing idly with his phone before Emil spoke and he looked up with a smirk that seemed to always be on his face (when he was looking at Emil anyways).

"Good morning, early bird buddy," he teased.

Emil made his way over and rolled his eyes lightly, "how did you not know who I was if I'm always here in the morning same as you?" He huffed.

"Aw, you're still hung up on that? Don't be sad, you're unforgettable to me now~" Leon mused shooting a look at him.

"Ugh. Though I supposed I haven't seen you in here this early before- what did you randomly decide to start coming early to bother me?"

"Yeah actually," at Emil's face he snickered, "actually I usually hung out in the library to, like, read manga or something- but the librarian got irritated with me so he started locking the doors until school started."

That actually got a small quirk of the lips from Emil and he said, "I'm amazed you somehow wore down Mr. Laurinaitis."

Leon laughed a bit, "yeahhh... to be fair he had a reason to," he snorted.

"I thought you usually seemed like the brooding silent type. Even with your posse you were always quiet," Emil noted as he looked at him.

Leon stared at him for a moment- heat creeping up his neck- then he cleared his throat, "wow, didn't know you liked to stalk me," he joked.

Emil's eyebrows furrowed and his nose did the scrunchy thing when he was annoyed, "I do not stalk you, I'd have much better use of my time. Besides, it's common knowledge among the school, cool popular Leon Wang. Unapproachable. Quiet unless snarky. Can pierce your soul with a single retort," the way Emil said this was in a very melodramatic sense.

It had Leon grinning to be honest.

"Wow, you're very funny, I'd love to hear more about me from you~" He spoke after his chuckle fit.

Amber eyes hardened into a stare whenever he noticed the pale cheeks of Emil started to burn a rosy red.

"Oh you're embarrassed~?"

"Sh-Shut the hell up, Leon!"

More laughter.

Man, Leon sure was enjoying these morning conversations with Emil. He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes- relaxing as he heard Emil shuffling his papers and the sound of buses pulling up.

Soon his peers entered the classroom and he all but cracked an eyelid open whenever he heard his name being called and his acquaintances started rambling about their night or whatever it was that they were talking about.

He glanced over at Emil and noticed the other had been looking at him too so their eyes met. Emil immediately flushed and turned back to his papers- making Leon grin (which had a few of the people around them stutter for a moment).

Soon the bell rang and everyone dispersed to their own respective seats. Leon leaned his arms onto the desk and watched Emil pay attention to the teacher- occasionally writing down some notes, and every so often he nibbled on the end of his pencil in thought.

About halfway through class Emil seemed to be getting a bit flustered by the unwanted(?) attention and be shot Leon a glare, "what?" He asked.

Leon looked up and noticed Mr. Edelstein peek over at them before going back to the blackboard. He sneakily reached over to Emil's notebook and tore off a piece- ignoring his "hey!" And started writing stuff down.

Leon: hi

Emil: why are you not paying attention to class? >:(

Leon: cuz it's boring

Emil: and staring at me is otherwise curing your boredom??

Leon: as it so happens ;))

Emil read the message and immediately jolted a bit in embarrassment and shot Leon a dirty look before scribbling down something.

Emil: I am not a show pony. You're closer to one anyways mister flamboyantly dressed ice man!

Leon let out a shocked laugh before covering it with a cough and ignored the couple of stares he had received.

Leon: wow you really know how to insult your future husband~

Emil: excuse me???

Leon: opposites attract sweetheart ^3^

Emil: I'm gonna kill you.

Leon: I'll wait for the day <3

Emil sighed in relief as the bell sounded- shoving his stuff into his backpack before, amusingly tucking the note gently into the front pcoket, shooting another withering look at Leon before he stomped out of the classroom.

Leon took decidedly longer to leave and a few of his friends walked up to him.

"Dude it sucks you have to sit next to Boring McGee," Sam spoke, a random character don't mind me twirling a finger through her hair absentmindedly.

The Asian just shrugged, his face returning to his usual neutral expression, packing up his own things and lazily tossing the bag over his shoulder.

They walked down the halls together, another person from their friend circle joining every so often before they all split up to go to their own classes.

Leon found he missed Emil's presence in his other classes. It had only been two days of actually knowing the dude and yet here he was staring at the ceiling wishing he could just exchange stupid notes with him.

Ah well. There's always tomorrow.
