"goodmorning deziree, are you ready to talk yet?" marsha asked and sat down.

i looked at her for about 30 seconds.

"it's okay, it's no rush, i just have a few questions." she said and pulled her notebook out.

"about your kids." marsha added.

my eyes lit up.

"i have answers." i said and struggled to sit up.

"careful.." marsha said and looked at me.

"how old are your kids?" marsha asked and got her pen.

"i've been here for about 6 months so they... just turned two." i paused.

marsha stared at me.

"this is gonna be a fun case.. the judge is gonna have a field day." marsha said and wrote something down.

i rolled my eyes.

"do you know when i get out of here?" i asked.

"two more days, your injury still needs minor treatment but your doing fine." marsha said.

i smiled at the thought of being home.

"do you know where my phone is?" i asked.

"i do but for some reasons i can't give it to you." marsha said.

"but it's my phone." i said and scrunched my face up.

"i understand that but-" marsha was cut off by the nurses entering.

"miss Linz, deziree has a visitor." the nurse said and looked at me.

i stared at the nurse.

the nurse walked out and marsha collected her things.

"marsha... when i leave can you make sure i have my phone?" i asked.

marsha nodded with a smile then walked out.

i sighed and shook my head.

"deziree.." a deep voice mumbled.

i looked up and saw redd.

a part of me was happy but another part of me was pissed.

"how you know i was here?" i asked.

"i can't answer that right now, you good?" he asked and sat down.

"im.. i'm okay." i mumbled.

"i've been tryna come see you but they told me you just woke up." he said.

"why are you here redd?" i asked.

"i don't know man.. something wasn't right, rya then you.." redd said and ran his hand down his face.

"mmm.." i said and looked away.

"you knew i was alive?" i asked.

"they been keeping me updated." he said.

"when did you come to cali?" i asked.

"after i found out, i got a apartment out here now. you get out tomorrow i'll come pick you up." redd said and stood up.

"okay.." i said.

redd walked to the door.

"thank you redd." i said as he nodded and walked out.
