Chapter 1: Prologue (1)

Start from the beginning

"I don't know, guilt?"

This son of a bitch.

"Anyway uncle," the boy smiled, turning to him. "Let's get started, shall we?"

Then he sliced his pinky toe off with the razor

Enrique let out a hiss.

-Poowoo- -Poowoo- -Poowoo-

The sound of police sirens outside didn't stop the boy from continuing to use his blade.

Enrique had given up already. Even if the police helped him to the hospital, the current technology wasn't enough to heal him completely. He will be a cripple his whole life, and he would rather face death than that.

"Haah, they're here faster than I thought they'd be." The boy whistled, grabbing an axe from the ground. "Now, as much as I want you to live as a cripple, I don't think I will be satisfied without seeing your headless body. So goodbye, uncle."

"...Kid," Enrique managed to spat out, blood dripping from his lips. "Wanna hear something interesting?"

"Ho?" The boy played with the axe. "Your last words? Sure."

Enrique smiled. "Your mum had a loose cunt."

Then, the axe came flying at Enrique's neck.

Enrique felt it, as the sharp blade cut half of his neck, but not entirely, and as the boy continued slamming it on his neck, he felt it all. Like that, with one strike after another, and finally at the last strike, Enrique's head fell to the ground and everything went dark.

"Die, die, die you son of a bitch!" The boy kept yelling, stomping on the severed head. However, Enrique was long gone.

—-

The darkness didn't last long for Enrique.

He wasn't sure if he just died a second ago, or had it happen centuries ago, but at this moment Enrique was in a cloudy plane, on his knees as he was facing a woman cosplaying as an Egyptian goddess.

...Maybe not cosplaying. Given he just died.

"Mortal child," the woman said, looking down at him for a while before she reached out a hand. "I am Goddess Mut, and I offer you my hand to become my Avatar."

Ah.

A Goddess...

So this was the infamous afterlife? He never prayed to any Egyptian Gods though, or any God for the matter.

He just hoped he wouldn't have to spend all his life in hell.

—★—

Egyptian Mother Goddess Mut, the wife of Amun-Ra, mother of Khonsu.

That's who she was.

In this 21st Century, she was more of a trophy than a Mother Goddess since the other Egyptian Gods barely ever listened to her. However, she still wanted the best for Egypt and the Egyptian Pantheon.

In the "All Pantheon Meeting" that happened two millennia ago, the other Pantheons had set many restrictions on the Egyptian Pantheon and its Gods. They had no choice but to accept the restrictions, because their strongest God wasn't around anymore.

Amun-Ra, the once Chief God of Egypt, was residing inside the sun, away from the material world's conflicts. If he was still around, the other Pantheons would never have had the courage to restrict them this heavily.

Because of these restrictions, many Egyptian Gods and Goddesses were sealed inside statues once they broke any restrictions. Even for silly reasons such as making river water into wine. As Gods, they ought to have some fun, but that small fun shouldn't cost them millennials of confinement!

Mut was frustrated because of that. However, even being the Mother Goddess, she could do nothing since Egypt would be grouped upon by the other Pantheons if they tried to fight back.

However, Mut didn't care anymore. Her frustrations knew no limits anymore, because just a few weeks ago Odinson Thor, the God of Thunder from Norse, had come down on earth and wreaked havoc.

Why was it that he, just because he was the son of Odin, could do all that while they were so heavily restricted?

That wasn't right.

Things couldn't go on like this anymore.

After a long time of thinking, Mut had reached her decision. She would use that technique, that one forbidden Divinity that her husband gave her before leaving.

Her husband was the son of Demiurge – the Essence of Chaos and the Primordial Ocean of Nothingness – and had inherited that power by birth. Before he left, he gave that power to her to use in the utmost emergency.

The Divinity, «The call of the Void»

Once a problem is 'called out' using this Divinity, the Void will provide a solution for it, no matter how big or small the problem may be.

Mut hadn't used it ever because it could only be used once. She kept it safe, to use it only when the Egyptian Pantheon faced a truly dangerous problem. And this right here was an era that was most dangerous for Egypt. So much so that they were on the verge of eradication. So, she decided to use it.

Standing on her personal heaven, Aaru, a plane made of rich yellow heavenly clouds, she channelled the divinity, the power that can never be used again, and the power... that will save Egypt.

-Shoosh~

A dark hole abruptly opened up in front of her, reality bending into a white translucent hand as it slid inside the hole, yanking out a bloody man, as the void energy wrapped around him to heal his wounds.

Mut observed the young man, who was blinking rapidly.

'A powerless mortal...' Mut observed before shaking her head. 'No... not powerless. The void empowered him a bit. His soul is clad with a veil of darkness, blocking me from reading his mind... If even I can't read his mind, he should already be immune to most telepaths on earth.'

She understood it now. Why a mortal appeared instead of a strong divine being. The Void wanted her to take him in...

"Mortal child," Mut said after a minute, looking down at the kneeling mortal as she reached out a hand. "I am Goddess Mut, and I offer you my hand to become my Avatar."

Yes, for the first time in eternity, she will choose an Avatar.
