Just got the new MacBook Air and its actually really nice. It definitely made my translating experience so much better. MediumPlate has already gotten burnt out since last week– told me that if they see the word "Shen Man" again, they will go crazy.

Aunt He was preparing breakfast.

Shen Man sat at the dining table, waiting, but there was still no sign of Lin Shu.

She was about to get up to call her over when Aunt He hurriedly stopped her and said, "Miss Lin gets angry if she's woken up, so let her sleep a little longer."

Shen Man looked at the time, and there was still another hour to spare. Since it wasn't urgent, she sat back down and ate breakfast.

10 minutes later, Lin Shu's door finally opened and she quickly ran out.

"Why didn't anyone wake me up? Do you want to make me late?" Lin Shu complained while pouting.

Aunt He immediately apologized and assured her. Putting a bowl of porridge in front of Lin Shu, she said, "Miss Lin, I'm so sorry. I will definitely wake you up next time."

Shen Man watched quietly.

For Aunt He, this must be a daily occurrence and her words are just to be polite.

After having breakfast, Shen Man went back to her room to get her schoolbag.

There's still half an hour before class starts. So, Shen Man sat in the living room and after waiting two minutes, she headed towards Lin Shu's room.

Her door wasn't closed properly and through the crack, Shen Man saw Lin Shu carefully choosing a dress.

She knocked on the door and raised her voice, "Eldest miss, what are you doing? We need to go to school."

When Lin Shu heard her, she thought for a second with pursed lips before deciding to open the door. "Come in," she told Shen Man.

With a smile, Shen Man stepped into the room and quickly looked around.

Lin Shu's room was designed like a fairytale princess's.

It was decorated in romantic, cute pink with laces and bows as decorations. There was even a cabinet dedicated to displaying various dolls and other items.

What's most eye-catching was a human sized plush doll.

Shen Man took a closer look and discovered that the plush was somewhat worn out, with stitches on its arms and legs.

It must have been bought a long time ago.

"This is so cute, where did you buy it?" Shen Man asked with a smile.

Hearing this, Lin Shu looked at her plush doll with complicated emotions in her eyes, "My dad bought this."

Then with a lost expression, she added, "It's the first birthday present he gave me."

Shen Man looked at her and remembered what Aunt He said.

Lin Shu really is a wealthy heiress who lacks love.

No matter how good her living conditions are, no matter how much money Mr. Lin gave her, it would not fill up the void in her heart.

With people like her, after they taste a bit of love, they get paranoid and terrified of losing it.

Towards the end of the novel, Lin Shu succumbs to her crazy paranoia because of not being able to have love.

'Hello? What are you thinking about?" Lin Shu said loudly as she picked up a white dress by her side. She put it in front of her body and excitedly asked, "Look at this dress, how does it look on me?"
