"Are we close? I don't think I can feel my legs anymore" you sighed as you and Obi-Wan walked through a forest.

"Yes we are, and this is the fifth time you complain about it! Being miserable won't get us anywhere"

"It's your fault that we're stuck here and-" you stopped. You felt something you couldn't explain.

"Do you feel this too?" you asked Obi-Wan and he nodded. "What is it?"

"It's the force. There's a force signature near. We must find it"

You both started following the force, not really knowing where you were going when you heard a soft cry.

You both looked at each other and took hold of your lightsabers.

You were the one to get close to where the cry was heard from and when you pulled the leaves that covered the sight in front of you you were met with an unexpected surprise.

"What the-" you muttered as you picked the baby up and observed it better.

It was, how old? Two months? Four?

And most importantly, why it was here abandoned?

"What happen-" Obi-Wan stood next to you and was left speechless by the sight in front of him.

"A baby? A force-sensitive baby?" He managed to ask.

"It seems so" you replied looking at the baby in your arms, which had now calmed and looked at you with, what was it looking at you with? Curiousness? Adoration?

"Guess we'll have to camp for tonight"

"Yep," you said and followed him to a spot by a lake where he decided would be the best to camp.

You were taking care of the child, trying to understand it more somehow.

"Why do you think they abandoned it?" you asked Obi-Wan after a few hours.

"I don't know" he replied with a skeptical voice looking at the campfire in front of you.

"There are many reasons" he continued, "they may were afraid of the power the baby had, they might not understand it"

"And what are we gonna do?"

"Return it to the Jedi Temple"

"No, I mean what are we gonna do until then. We have little to no knowledge of how to take care of the baby. And we have at least three days ahead of us!"

"We'll figure it out. How hard can it be?" he shrugged.

"Oh, I don't know. I once babysitted my nephew. Worst experience ever"

He laughed at your expression. "The child seems to like you"

"I am not sure if that's true, but" you sniffed, "I think it's trying its best that I don't"

You unfolded the diaper and tried your best not to throw up.

"I need to wash her in the lake" you got up, holding the baby as far as you could.

"Her?"

"Oh, congratulations! It's a girl!" you joked and he laughed.

You gently hold the little creature with one hand supporting her little head and the other holding her back.

"Alright, little one. Let's find you a diaper. Obi, I need you to hold her"

"Oh, okay, sure," he said a bit hesidentally.

You searched your bag and found a medium-length fabric you had taken for bandages. That will do

In the meanwhile, the girl had taken a great interest in your companion, her tiny hands on his face, studying it and watching him carefully.

"Seems that she likes you" you commented, your back turned to him.

"How can you blame her? No woman can resist me" he smirked.

"Don't be so sure about that" you muttered under your breath.

"Did you say anything?"

"I just said, whatever you say"

He handed her to you and you changed her.

An hour later she was asleep, little snores coming from her. She was laying on your chest, your cloak wrapped around her to keep her warm.

"You know" Obi-Wan broke the silence, speaking quietly not to wake up the child "regardless of what you said, you are great with children. I mean, better than me, anyway"

You smiled at his comment and looked down at the sleeping figure of the girl.

"You know, I was like her. All I needed was protection. So does she. And I am not the one to deny it"

"That's so good of you"

You gave him a warming smile and he responded as such.

You started getting cold and somehow Obi-Wan managed to find out.

"Are you cold?"

"How'd you know?"

"Oh, darling. I know everything"

"Oh, yeah?" you asked as he sat next to you, wrapping his cloak around you.

"Yes"

"I know something that you don't!"

"What's that?"

"I love you" you blurted out.

You looked at him with worrying eyes, being sure that the feeling wasn't mutual. But you couldn't find a better moment to admit your feeling.

It was now or never.

"Well, I know something that you don't too"

You raised an eyebrow.

Instead of replying he leaned in and kissed you softly.

He moved away, just a few inches. "I love you too"

You felt relief and happiness, all at once. He brought his hand on your cheek, kissing you again when you were interrupted by sad coos.

"We were having a moment" Obi fake scolded the little girl and you smiled.

Pressing one kiss on her forehead and one on Obi's cheek you rested your head on his chest.

"Took you long enough"

"You're the stubborn one, Y/N"

"I'm not!"

"Yes, you're. But this can't stop me from loving you even more" he placed a kiss on the top of your head and you finally closed your eyes, taking a deep breath, allowing yourself to relax.

This day couldn't end better.
