"When was the last time you ate, Jack?"

"This morning—"

"You're actual diet, Jack."

His hesitance was enough.

Sighing even deeper, she rubbed at her forehead before walking towards him and yanking him by the wrist to follow her. The much taller and lankier of the two grumbled in protest but made no move to actually try and escape.

Ending up in the kitchen, Jane forced the demon to take a seat, which he did and was currently slouching and sulking at her silently. Searching through the freezer, and wrinkling her nose at a few items, Jane eventually pulled something out and tossed it to the other who caught it without thinking.

Leaning against the counter she crossed her arms and raised a brow at him. Her frown deepened the longer he fiddled with the jar anxiously.

"Jack."

Again his ears flattened into a tensed position.

Pushing off from the counter she pulled up a chair and sat beside him.

"What's going on?" She prodded softly.

Again he shook his head, "Nothing. I'm just not hungry right now."

"Despite being a clever manipulator, I didn't take you as one to be so bad at lying."

He frowned and Jane raised a brow.

Reluctantly he unscrewed the top of the jar and took out the bloodied organ, he'd have to rewash his gloves after. If his mask wasn't on he'd probably be drooling at this point. Jane didn't react at the squishing sounds but she averted her gaze.

From the corner of her eye she saw the mask be placed on the table followed by unpleasant sounds. She did take notice to how there was hesitance in his actions, even if she wasn't facing him.

Jane closed her eyes and hummed.

"Jack."

The demon wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, hunger being satisfied for the moment. He felt better after eating yet his mind still clouded with a dreadful feeling. His hands slightly shook as he recapped the now empty jar.

Jane pursed her lips, mulling over how to word her thoughts.

The jar clinked as it was set on the table beside the navy blue mask.

"You have a friend, yeah?"

Her voice was soft as she questioned him.

Looking back towards him, her eyes now open, she didn't need a verbal confirmation. She already knew by his mannerisms. Jack didn't look at her and instead drummed his claws against his mask. His mouth twitched.

"Not associated with him either, I'm assuming."

His ears flicked.

Sighing through her nose she placed a hand to his shoulder.

"Tell me about them?"
