"Sometimes I think all my problems would be solved if I could just line up everyone who has kissed me, and just pow- with a car

"Sometimes I think all my problems would be solved if I could just line up everyone who has kissed me, and just pow- with a car."

She was not allowed to imagine such things. Maddie was meant to be a sweet girl, a slight lovely thing made of pink, gold and a bounty of love.

Lavender giggled.

Which Madelena was. Obviously. To suggest otherwise would be preposterous. And you wouldn't want to be preposterous now would you?

"Would this line up include me?" asked Lavender, playing with Maddie's hair as she lay her head on her lap.

She was sitting up in Maddie's bed. Maddie couldn't sleep in the house alone. Abuela was on tour and Carlos was at Ernie Macmillan's.

"I haven't decided yet. Keep playing with my hair." Said Maddie, Lavender giggled and admired Maddie's lips, and eyes. She had just gotten her hair cut in an immensely flattering way.

"The Denise Richards cut is just revolutionary. The French must be so jealous of you, Maddie." Said Lavender. Maddie was so fucking pretty. Lavender felt a flush rise to her cheeks at the mere sight of Maddie's smile. She looked up. "The crack in your ceiling looks like a man."

"Oye, that's Ernesto." Said Maddie, looking at him

The crack in her ceiling had been there for ages. It did not look like water damage. If she squinted her eyes it began to ressemble the profile of a face. An old man's face, covered in wrinkles.

Maddie hugged a pillow to her chest. It was soft, purple and had a small embroidered crown on it.

"He's a good policia who won't convict me for hitting men with cars." Said Maddie.

Lavender's smiles sparkled and she always wore lace lined tank tops. Lavender made Maddie mixed tapes and had watched Before Sunrise and Romeo and Juliet with her approximately twenty thousand times.

She had all the songs from Dirty Dancing memorized and could do nearly every dance (save for the lift). She cried when she read anything moving which is why she didn't read much. Maddie adored her.e.

There was a Cardigans song playing in the background, Lovefool, the sticker covered pink case of the cassette was just beside Maddie's bed.

"You're so beautiful, Lavender."

"Why does it bother you so much anyways?" Asked Lavender. "Seeing Nott with Selwyn?

"I just, I don't know. He came to see me at the hospital and I thought, maybe," Maddie started but then she shut her eyes tight and sat up. Lavender guffawed at the loss of Maddie's warmth and pulled her back into her embrace this time under the daisy covered comforter. "You think I'm stupid."

"I think you could replace him with anything. A robot. A dog. A plant. Hell, it's Nott, find a stone and draw on an impassive face." Said Lavender. Maddie moved closer to her.
