Theo hated the dementors.

Hogwarts during his third year reminded him of home. He refused to go to Hogsmeade at all. Outright refused. Draco had even thought to warn him before trying to fool Potter a dementor was near him.

Theo had helped of course.

Maddie was still with the chicken.

So called hippogriff. She refused to leave it.

Theo grew irritated. She had not spoken to him since school had started. He had intended to walk her back to the castle. But instead he was growing increasingly concerned over her proximity to the bird.

She was sitting cross legged a few paces from it. Potter was still here.

"Theo. We need to go after Draco." Said Blaise. "We'll never hear the end of it if we're not there for him."

Maddie's hair was braided.

She was drawing the bird.

Irritation pricked at Theo's sides as he relented, jaw tensing for a moment as he and Blaise finally left for the castle.

"Number Six bought me sixteen brand new suits. All in different colours. He does understand my affinity for purple." Said Blaise.

"Makes you feel like royalty," Said Theo, Blaise smiled,

"Precisely, Nott. My favourite friend, precisely. I'm trying not to get attached though." Said Blaise with a small frown. "But he took me shopping for school, and I think maybe mother might keep this one."

"Blaise," He started and that was all he needed to say as Blaise's shoulders sank,

"I know. It's just rather difficult. To be optimistic without setting my hopes too high." Said Blaise. Theo nodded. "I like number six, and I think mother does too."

Theo nodded to the silver lining between the clouds.

"You will enjoy your time with him." He said.

Blaise nodded and then smiled. "You are so wise. Look at you. You are akin to those characters in novels who say very little but when they do speak it is very meaningful."

Theo smiled a little. He had been practicing speaking. He was far more eloquent in sign language. He looked over his shoulder. Maddie was not coming up the path.

"I've been thinking we should try out for the Quidditch team. The pair of us? We could be beaters, or chasers." Said Blaise. "Number six bought me a broom." He said with an uneasy chuckle. "Said he would come to my first game. And I don't want it to be just Draco and I."

Theo arched an eyebrow.

"He is wonderful, don't get me wrong, but you and I we are friends." Said Blaise. "Who deal with him together. As a unit. You will feel left out if you do not. Besides my birthday is coming up, don't you want to make me happy?"

"Fine." Said Theo.

"Fine?"

"Yes."

"Excellent." Said Blaise smiling. "Maybe Noceda will cheer you on." He said casually. Theo looked at him mortified. "You like her do you not?"

"No." Said Theo truthfully. He was rather irritated with Madelena Noceda at the moment.

It did not matter how she was beautiful in the pink and gold sort of way, that her laugh was like being wrapped in velvet, or that Theo had replayed their last exchange a million times in his head.

He was an anxious person.

He did that with every exchange.

The one he was having at the moment with Blaise promised to be on loop as he lay awake later at night.
