Chapter 6 : Catnip

Start from the beginning

A few Mandibuzzes squawked above our heads as we padded across the savannah, we had been going through the huge place for a few hours. The sun was already above our heads at this time, I let out a sigh as a herd of Bouffalants dashed past us, we'd been padding for all this time, and still couldn't find anything.

"Randy, how do you think the others are doing?" I asked as we went past a cave. "Probably pretty well, I'm quite curious about what Kuro and Duff chose, they seemed to be quite enthusiastic about it" Randy replied. "How about Blossom?" I asked, I still couldn't help but worry about my best friend. "She'll be fine, we'd better hurry up and save that dragon, if we don't hurry up, Mightyenas will be everywhere in the night" Randy barked as we went on.

"Randy, do you really have no clue about where the Deino went?" I asked. "No clue...Deino's are blind, Icy. He might have gone somewhere cool since the sun is so hot right now...wait..." Randy muttered. "Not so hot...? Randy, are you thinking of what I'm thinking?" I asked. "Yes, a cave! Didn't we pass one?" he asked. "Oh right! Let's go!"

"Is anymon in there?" Randy called out. "Great!" we looked at each other as a small roar came from inside, followed by a small dragon coming out. "Ahh!" he yelped and ran deeper into the small cave. "He's...so small" I described. "He's probably still a baby," Randy said quietly. "Hey there, are you Mr.Derp?" Randy called out, then the Deino looked in our direction. "Y-yes!"

We then slowly approached him, as we padded towards him, he kept running until he was against the back of the cave. "Ahhh! Mama! I'm going to be eaten!" he screamed and shrank backward. "Shh! Calm down, we're here to take you to Post Town" I said quietly. "Ahh! No! Please don't eat me!" he screamed again, I then looked at Randy.

"Mr.Derp, why do you think she's going to eat you? She's a Vulpix," Randy asked and padded forward. "Because...she's an ice type...when she evolves...she's going to be a fairy type...and both of those are dragon killers..." Derp mumbled. "Oh...so I'm not the only one afraid of types that are super effective against me..." I thought to myself.

"Mr.Derp, I promise we won't hurt you, alright? Icy is just a fluffy cloud, she can't hurt you" Randy said to him and padded even closer to him. "Wait...fluffy cloud...? Is that what I look like?" I asked as Randy slowly lifted Derp with his paws. "Here...feel it for yourself! There's nothing to be afraid of, she's only a cloud of fluff" Randy said and brought Derp towards me. "Psst...Icy, let him touch your tails"

"Oooh...feels sooo soft and fluffy" Derp murmured as I slowly brushed my tails against him. "See? She's not going to hurt you" Randy said to him. "Derp, let's go bring you home when it's still early," I said to him, but he opened his mouth and pointed at it with his front legs. "Derp hungry!"

"How much can he eat...?" I wondered out loud, this small dragon in front of me had an appetite big enough to fit in a mountain, he had already eaten every edible thing in my backpack, including our lunch. "Icy, you can't blame a baby for being hungry, they're always hungry," Randy said to me.

"Mr.Derp, it's time to go now," Randy said to him. "I want a piggyback ride," he said. "What?" we asked. "I'm not going back without a piggyback ride!" Derp said to us. "Urg...fine...

Randy muttered with a sigh. "Mr.Derp, get on my back" he muttered. "Yay!"

"How long is it until we're back in town?" I complained. "Why are you the one complaining? I'm the one carrying the Deino" Randy spoke from my side. The sun was already setting as we headed back toward town. Suddenly, I heard some noises coming from behind us, so I turned around. "Icy, it would be nice if you know how to use the move Dig"

A herd of Bouffalants, Zebstrikas, and other pokemon were rushing towards our direction, with a pack of Pyroars chasing behind them. "Ice, do you know it or not?!" Randy questioned, but I froze upon seeing the herd of dashing pokemon. "Icy!" Randy's loud call made me snap out of it, I then used my Aurora Beam on the ground, making a small ice barrier around the three of us. "Ahh! Ice! It's so cold!" Derp shouted as the herd of Bouffalants ran past us. (all of the Pyroars here are female, the same goes for the Pyroars later since they're just like lions unless I say that they're male)
