Chapter 6 : Catnip

Start from the beginning

"Oh yeah, 25% is half of 50%, so you only have to divide 1000 into 500," Randy said to him. "Randy, my math is not that bad, you don't have to tell me that!" Guhan boomed and crossed out the 1000, then replaced it with a 500. "But...25% is..." I heard Guhan mutter. "Above 40% of course! 100%-25% is 75% bigger than the 60% after using the 40%"

"Thanks for the discount, Guhan!" Randy called out. "No problem, anything for you softies" Guhan boomed with a smile. "See, Icy? I told you that I got this" Randy said with a confident smile while I was left dumbfounded. "What's the matter, Icy? Still too expensive?" Guhan asked. "No, no, that's fine...don't you say, Icy?" Randy asked as his smile grew even wider. "Uh...yeah! Thanks, Guhan...that discount is great...the best one I've ever seen in fact..."

"Hey, boss! You done with ripping them off using the legal way?" one of the Timburrs walked out and asked, but he turned pale when he saw the price. "Yes, I have! What a bargain I made! Bwahahahahaa!" Guhan boomed with laughter while the Timburr was frozen in place. "...Tim...you gotta see this!" Timm blurted out, soon the other Timburr came out...with the same reaction...

As soon as Guhan got finished with the "discount prices", the two of us went to check on them. "Icy, is there anything you want to buy?" Randy asked. "I'd like an ice cream parlor around here...but I don't have enough poke', I'm 100 poke' short" I replied with a sigh. "You sure?" he asked. "Yeah...? Are you going to lend me any poke'? You don't...have any, do you...wait, Randy!" I called out as Randy dashed off. "Be right back!"

"Uh...boss?" one of the Timburrs asked, which I had already lost track of who was who. "Boss...I think the prices are...a little too...low...?" the other one said quietly. "Tim, you doubt my math skills?!" Guhan boomed. "Err...it's not like that..." Tim replied. "Um...boss...I think it's a little cheap...that's...all?" Timm muttered. "You doubt my math?! Then, what's 3 times 3?"

"Um...err...Boss, we've never gone to school" Timm muttered. "Oh? Then don't doubt me, you hear me?! 3 times 3 is 6 of course!" Guhan boomed with a smile. "Wait...that's not right...I've never learned multiplying for numbers bigger than 10...but isn't that...9?" I wondered. "Got it, boss!" the two Timburrs said in union. "I'm back!"

"Randy, where did you go?" I asked as he padded towards us. "Home...and Blossom is still high" he replied. "High...? Don't you mean tall?" I asked. "Uh...forget that I was back there to get this" he replied and took his backpack off, then opened it. "What?!"

"Uh...Randy, where'd you get this?" I asked. "From the attic" he replied. "But nobody puts their poke' there...the attic is more like a small storage for us" I muttered. "I don't know...I just found it there, that's all" he said with a smile. "Is there anything you want?" I asked. "Nah...there's nothing I'd actually like, I'm fine with anything"

"Thanks for purchasing the ice cream parlor for me...but are you sure that you really don't want anything?" I asked after Randy bought the parlor for me. "Yeah...nothing seems to attract to me, I didn't have many hobbies as a human anyway" he replied as we chose a request about rescuing a Deino lost in Eastern Savannah, whose name is Derp. "What does that mean, is being a human not fun at all?" I asked. "Yep, being a human sucks...at least for me, since all we have is school, exams, and more school"

"Wow...that sounds boring, but do you have no rescue requests, or delivering jobs?" I asked while Randy checked the map. "We're going towards the right side...and nope. School is mandatory back there, jobs like those are done by adults" he replied as we headed off. "But don't you have anything to play...and things?"

"Yes...but things like those...for things we can play together, most of them are pretty expensive, a lot of people wouldn't be able to afford it...if you're talking about exercise...that's not something all of us can do" he replied with a sigh. "What are you talking about, Randy? Most pokemon can run...and throw balls, are there humans that can't run?" I asked. "Yes...sort of"
